I guess you're trying to get a laugh from some members? Is that what you're doing?
Fear not, you just keep worrying about your completely stock looking CL with the exception of 'Top Secret' offsets... I can bet, scratch that, I can promise with all the detail to my car, my CL is a much more aesthetically pleasing W215 than yours in every way possible.
I've seen your car, you've only seen mine in your mind and the mental picture seems to be distorted.
I've noticed a lot of hate on here when NO ONE has even seen my car, that's the funniest part. It's whatever, keep it coming. I know what it looks like and what my vision is, and the praise its gotten thus far. So, no, it won't look like a disaster, it'll be the coolest looking W215 CL AMG you will see. I firmly believe that. I wouldn't take on the task without believing I can execute it. But I guess its expected for some people to have negative notions when you have 2 headrests that cost more than 'Top Secret' rims that, to me, aren't all that. I'm sure its going to look mutated when the custom widebody is finished 315 > 305

Just hold off all mis-judgements until you actually see the car, you will be surprised and pleased. I'd just like to know why you believe this car will come out looking like a botched plastic surgery patient... Because I'm getting 3" of Louis Vuitton leather on my handles? LOL

Maybe its because your red carbon fiber in a black interior is going to look horribly cheap and tacky. Its been done. It looked bad then, it will look bad here.

the LV on the grab handles is just the icing on the tacky cake.

When is the car going to be done?

I wish my wheels only cost me $4000. To each their own.

That's your opinion, I guess your just a Burl walnut wood kind of guy. I think that is very unappealing in a more sports orientated car. In my opinion and the way my car is setup, the Crimson red carbon fiber is going to look extremely nice. Please show me an AMG that has legit red carbon fiber in it replacing the wood. I've only seen one that had it (ML63 I'm basing it off of) and it looked strikingly gorgeous. This is definitely not a common shade of carbon fiber and the price is near $6,700, so to say its cheap is a misled perspective. Also, the little sample piece I've received tells a different story, I know the quality of the product.

I can see why it wouldn't be everyone's preference, it's something very unique and wouldn't look right in every car, but tacky

I think the wheels list for $1600 a piece plus tires.

Is that what you paid for them though? A CL65 lists for $190,000 +, but can be had for $34,000.
Just to get it out of the way, I really don't have any issues with any members on here. We all on this forum have something to bring us together; Mercedes-AMG. And we have more in common if you're in this sub-section; AMG CL's. That's what brings us together. This is a cool car and we've picked it for a reason. If you have an AMG CL, when it comes to cars, you're cool in my book and you're in that niche market, you could have just as easily bought an S, SL, CLS, E etc... AMG. But we didn't. We have a car that is rare, there isn't really a market for, the list of modifying options is very very slim, and isn't too practical. But we still went for it with all that in mind. I try to respect everyone on here. I don't go around picking fights or leaving insulting comments. I may be one of the youngest guys on here, but I try to show maturity. I wish people would do the same.
I put a lot of time, thought, vision, money, love, care and passion into my CL55. To me, besides being one of my automobiles, it's also a moving work of art. I'm dedicated to crafting it into being a CL like no other, some people don't understand that, because to them, it's just a car.
I've had visions in my dreams, where my car was in a showcase like you'd see in a Gran Turismo video game before you select the car. My car was rotating slowly and I had a crazy dream of how ultimately my car looked and I noticed the taillights looking different. I instantly woke up and had to write it on a piece of paper. The next day I went around to see who could make it happen how it looked in my dream. I did it and to this day I've never seen a CL or Mercedes with taillights like mine. That's just one instance.
I just don't appreciate a lot of the negative comments or assumptions when nobody has ever seen it. This isn't a budget build, I would not want anything done unless it looks like it could have came like that. Believe me, if the LV handles don't look right, they're going. But the way it was selected was so it has a rich touch but subtle and not distracting. It would be something you grab without thinking, then you feel the pressed-in leather, then you notice, "Oh wow! These are Louis Vuitton handles." I didn't get them so they shout at you.
You can't please everyone, that's why there's a car for everyone. Criticism is okay and appreciated, but to say it's going to look like plastic surgery gone wrong is the farthest thing you'd say if you saw it. I've never gotten a comment like that for those who have seen it in person. Only compliments in the highest regards. I'm not here for the bickering or arguing. But to get help and help along the way. Who would've known you can put Maybach headrests and SLR shift knobs onto our cars if my curiousity hadn't come along lol
Anyway, sorry for the long read, I just feel like the misunderstood guy on here at times. I know I've received more members on here than I can remember asking me to post pictures. The lack of pictures to aid you all in helping to see what my CL looks like garners this misunderstanding, I'm aware of that. But like I said, to me, it's an art form and sense of expression. I've been on MB forums for years and researched the CL and we've had one in my family since 2000. I know what they look like, how most people mod them and what's been done to them. Since then I always wanted something totally different from whats been seen. I'm getting there. When it's finished and I post the pictures, I hope you'll see my vision in the making come to life

Word of advice, silence is always the best way to go. Let your finish product do the talking. Everyone has their own opinion. By the way your car is looking nice , job well done

Can you shoot me a quick email of installation of side skit. Thanks

Definitely, silence it is. It's the best way, you don't say anything and people won't expect anything. I'm not really going to be posting up updates or anything else custom that I get done. I tried to take the W215 to a different level. When it's finished, I'll let people see. I just thought it would be cool to see someone getting a custom hood, doing a widebody, getting bumper vents cut out etc.. But PROPERLY
Like another cool thing that I'm about to get done that will make my car have that much more of an aggressive look is to get vents cut to look OEM in the B pillar (on our CLs) towards the bottom like in the 190E, but shaped more modern/sharper. I've always loved them vents on those E Classes. No car has those anymore

Surely Ken. Give me a little bit. I'm going to upload the pics I have of what materials you'll need and the kind of screws I used as no instructions came. FYI I got the side skirts installed the same day I received them. So it's been I'll say over 2 weeks. In that 2 weeks, I drove on the highway, took my car to a race circuit, hit 187 MPH, went to another state and drove around in the city with not the best roads and the skirts have held on perfectly with signs of letting go. So I can tell you, my method works. I'll PM you shortly

He did say 2 sets were being sent first. One to me and one to someone else (dealer out in California) then after that, Ken was going to get one once they've been confirmed to fit correctly. Then production was going to start on the final 8. I did my best to get it on the same day to confirm they do fit so everyone else, including Euroteck, would know so it could give them the green light to start production. I take it I'm the only one who can confirm that has a set? I don't even know who the second one was meant for? I either got very lucky, or the last sets might have some final tweaking to them, which I don't see being possible as honestly they're perfect. I hope you guys get them soon, it's one of the coolest pieces, and definitely the longest set of side skirt attachments I've ever seen on a car.

BTW, can the side skirt talk continue in the side skirt thread, please

Dude, you may not be Batman, but you must have money like Bruce Wayne. James Cameron asked to take his submersible into your deep pockets yet? My wife would be seeking power of attorney over my finances if I tried some of this stuff. But I dig it.

That's funny you say that. Oddly, I've been called Bruce Wayne a couple of times lol. I'm not at that level - Yet.
Buy her a pair of Louboutin's and in return she'll let you have fun with the car lol
But yeah, it's a lot of fun! I love customization

Who's racing who? The race is with yourself, I'm my own competition. I'm not behind anyone, I hold my own. What are you trying to establish with your comment? I'm sorry, everyone can't be Batman
