19's or 20' rims??

I just sold my rims which were 20's. I want to go for a more aggressive look and I also want the car to sit lower. I was thinking about 19's but I think they will look a bit too small. Some of my friends think I should get 19's and some think I should stick with 20's. Here is a guy with 19's http://www.mercedes-fans.de/autoderw..._artikel/id=42

Kinda small right? Let me know what you guys think.

I think 20's are the perfect size for the CL IMO.

21's would be sick but I wanna be low to the ground. Im trying to achieve the look with stock 18' rims. I think if I get 20's again, Im going to run 30 profile tires instead of 35 that I had before

Im actually lowered on links already, I think Im maxed out. I don't like the height with 20's but I think 19's will be too small.

hey guys i have 18's and every time i think about changing them i am warned not to by the dealer and various tire places. they say the car was designed for 18's and 19, 20's will mess up the computer, ie. cruise control, speedo, suspension, etc. any feedback.

As long as the overall diameter is the same, it will not affect the speedo. As far as suspension, it may have an effectg since the tires on the 20" rims will not be able to absorb the shock that a 18" or 19" tire but the affect would be negligible.

Where 20" rims will hurt you is in performance. It will cost you hp and affect mileage. They are also more prone to bend due to the very low tire aspect ratio. 19" rims are the perfect compromise.

I have 19&20s for my 65, the extra 20s came with the car, and I like the origional rims style over the them. Having said that I think 20s in general are the most attractive size by a small margin, also consider how you use the car my 19s with Mich ride better than the 20s with Bridges of lower profile, also more damage safety with the higher sidewall on the 19s.The differences though arent all that great, I hope this helps frame your choice

Yeah this makes sense. I remember comparing my 20' rims with 35 profile stretched tires next to my 18' stocks with 45 profile tires, the 20's were only an inch, inch and a half taller.

Deep dish look great but keep in mind they always look smaller, so 20's can look like 19's and 19's like 18's.

Wheel design, style, color and overall stance can really effect how big a wheel looks.

The CL is a big body car so I can pull off a big wheel, and I like the look of big wheels so I went with 20's and picked a wheel that looks a bit bigger that it is. I think it suits the CL well, but we all have our own taste. Tire brand will also make a big difference in ride quality so keep that in mind.

I think that mesh design is very common, you should get the dpe st7. Theres a guy on this forum that has them on a sl55, pretty dope. I was thinking about getting them on my car but it looks kinda sporty for me. I want something on the vip side. DPE SP SC5 is something in mind too. Here they are on a Charger http://www.stancenation.com/2012/02/...k-in-business/

I always liked these DPE, but note how the color and dish make them look like 19's not 20's

What makes them look like 19's is the fact that they are black on black on black. There is no contrast.

Several things play a part of making wheels look bigger or smaller

Looks smaller
- Black Lips against black tires - This blends with the tires
- Wheels with lips / dish - Lips stand out, spokes not as much
- Wheels the same color as the car - This blends with the car

Looks bigger
- Polished lips - Stands out
- Spokes with full reach to the edge of the wheel - Spokes stand out
- Wheel color the contrasts from the car - Wheels stand out

Here are some examples, all of these are 20's

I can add more photos buy I think you get the point..... at the end of the day it all depends on what YOU like !

.

Go with 20's definitely! Not much of a price difference regarding wheels, but they will look a lot better! If you need ideas, here are some from our range!

Plus, any of our wheel models can be made for your car in either 19 or 20 inches without a problem, with different finishes and in any of our options. They included (FMS - entry level forging profile with a flat front), MB (monoblock), VS (concave) and CV (deep concave) if possible regarding your requests on fitment, lip size and such.
