Is this just bad struts or something else? Any repair cost estimate and part number? This is getting annoying.

The struts are probably bad. I think around $80 a pop.

Yes, struts. Parts.com and ebay have them on the cheap and then replace them yourself. They are easy.

Just had to replace both trunk struts as well due to the trunk almost taking my head off a few times. Parts.com has them for approx $58.00 each.

2010 CL63 (was 2003 CL55)
Spring cost?

I dont have the automatic closing trunk on a 2003 CL55AMG, but it looks like one of the springs broke. I can't believe just the spring, without the strut, cost $141 while the strut assembly is only $58.

What is wrong here?

There was a recall on the springs in the 2006 time frame. Does it still apply?
