Traction issues... What's size rear tire will fit?
I've got a W216 CL600 with a Speedriven tune and my car has serious traction problems off the line. What size rim/tire will fit in the rear without any modification to the fenders? I have the kleeman lowering module but haven't installed it yet, so I need to know if lowering the car will effect the size rim/tire I can run also.
Are there any other options to help gain more traction?

Does anyone have experience running that width tire? How much does it help with the traction, I'd imagine most V-12's have this problem. What tires are some of you running on the street that has better traction other than drag tires?

I know renntech makes a LSD diff are there any other options? Does quafie have a unit that works on my car?

I run a 305 on the bac of my CL65 so I have experience. The difference in traction from the factory 275 is definitely significant. I run Perelli P-Zero's.
To get off the line without roasting the tires will be difficult to say the least. The V12 makes so much torque down low in the rpm range that no matter what size street tire you put on, it will easily roast them. You have to learn to modulate the accelerator pedal. Old school traction control.

I'm quite new to this Limited Slip Differential stuff, so please help me understand what it is. Up till now, from what I have gathered, only one of the wheel is powered by the engine? and by installing a lsd both rear wheels will get power at the same time?

Quaife has a unit that works and has been installed by a few forum members Do a search and you will find the info.
Bigger tires alone won't help traction on these cars with the immense torque they are able to supply.

I have noticed some talk about the quaife diff and I've had success with one in my M3 but will the quaife fit my W216 CL? I've only seen it mentioned in regards to the W215. I've also found that MHP seems to sell the same one Renntech sells but for a bit less.

the asc is squeezing the spinning wheel brake to transfer torque to the other wheel. so the net result is both wheels spinning, but in the process a lot of energy is lost and one wheel always spins more than the other which makes the car veer and not maintain direction well.
