FYI Cutouts, I really like the sound

I installed some electric cutouts and in my opinion the car sounds great. I could take a video but the quality of the sound never sounds like the exhaust in person. The CL65 (2005) as you know don't come with resanators so its factory cats and mufflers. I dumped them just before the rear control arms. Its no $ 5,000 dollar exhaust but sounds great, not at all like my many SBC V8s.

What section of the exhaust did you have the cutouts installed at?

I installed them, welded them in (stainless) right across from the control arms (rear). I think you CL55 has resonators there, the CL65 doesn't come
with them.

Which unit did you get? Also are you using the supplied remote or did you program the garage remote button to open the cut out flaps?

I not a fan of the remotes, I wired it using the cig/circuit and found a surplus sun-roof switch (Honda) which is easy to control without looking at it. I'm going to mount it near the front seat storage bin. I got the 2-3/4 inch units. The Y pipe fit was a bit loose (1/8")but was no trouble welding in that small gap. I haven't installed any down pipes as yet. I got the ones that have slotted alignment groves so adjusting clearances was easy.
