I'm interested in buying a 2008 CL63
A cheap CL is very expensive to own. Mine is running me about 10-13k a year to maintain. Yours will have much miles, expect more problems.
Forget about it unless you buy one with a warranty.
Don't listen to anyone else who doesn't own one (or didn't put as many miles as me).

Yeah go ahead buy a CL63 lol
Yeah go ahead buy a CL63 lol
i agree these cars do have allot of problems. but the CL is such a beautiful car. my CL65 gave me the common problems but i still loved the car.. i know the cl65 has more common problems and more expensive problems then the CL63 and i think my next car would probably be a cl63 or another cl65 but with warranty, because i have change the coil rails on my CL65 4-5 times and $1500 for each coil rail not including labor cost, and $1200 for spark plugs, these cars can be quite pricey to fix... in the end it worth paying that extra $4,000-$5,000 and buy a CL with warranty
The car is solid but there is a LOT of things that can and WILL break, it's just a matter of time. I'm sure that if I bought this car brand new, I wouldn't have any of these problems.
The only issue that might be a lemon is the AC compressor, shït is breaking pretty damn often and it costs $1800 to replace it!!!!!
Apparently I drive the car too hard and the compressor can't handle it lol
Anyways, add 5-10k more get a car with half of the miles or less AND buy a warranty. I tried to buy a warranty with Fidelity when I had 78k miles, they want 8k for a year or 100k miles. I told them to ***** off.
OH, and not to mention the head bolt problem (that can hydro lock the engine, all the M156 prior to 2011 have this problem, read this stick on the C63 section: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...-problems.html)
Trust me man, do yourself a favor and don't buy this car.
@ anton28: I still have it because the car is worth nothing comparing to what I paid with all the miles I put on her. They offered me 45k on a trade. Sooner or later this car will go, but there is nothing else that I like and the 2011 is still a little bit too expensive for me.
Oh, and if you're intending to use the back seats of the car pretty often, the handles tend to break, cost me $500 to replace them.
Last thing, the sunshade thing on the back of the car also stopped working for some reason... Too expensive and useless so I just left it like that.

You can read the same thing about the CL65's. Issues this, issues that. You have none with yours. Thing is people dont post about how happy they are with the car. Only the problems they are having so there are WAY more negative info on the web then positive.
I just bought my cl63 over a month ago. I did alot of reseach and spoke with LOTS of mechanics in my area and came to a conclusion that there are bad cars out there and there are good ones. Unfortunately its very clear to me that -GUILTY- got one of the 'bad' ones. Sorry GUILTY.
With that said. 90k is a lot. Think about the resale value. You will be reselling your car with 100K plus. Maybe 120k, 140k. Its going to be a very hard sell. Spend an extra 10-15k and get your self a much lower mile car. That way you can enjoy it and sell it with out that much effort down the line.
I didn't have a single issue before the 65k mark.
Don't buy a car like a CL63 with 100k miles.
Anton, you'll see soon enough what's going to happen to your bank account if you drive your car more.
My car even though is not the most reliable car I've ever seen, always puts a smile in my face, and in matter fact I pulled away from my friends 2010 CL63 who has half of my miles.
This is the best car you can buy for that money but be ready for the consequences. As I said above, do NOT listen to anyone who has a low mileage CL63. This car is problem free until a certain mileage. I checked the service records of my car before I bought it and it only visited the dealer for service and once for a problem with the side mirror.
the car has been largely trouble free if you dont count some abc work (both rear shocks and rear valve block) and front lca bushings. it also burnt the main gateway which was supposedly a result of a faulty chinese star cable. it also had some intermittent distronic problems which were addressed by a software update.
guilty- your experience is not typical- to say the least...
Hey guilty! I told u to change that name remember ?? As usual you admit too much.....
Well I gotta tell you never buy a first year model as in 2008 here. Ideally you want a 2010 but spend the extra 10k and get a 2009 with under 50 k..there's one in Beverly Hills on autotrader. That way you can get a warranty.
This is the real advice. All the new non AMG v-8 cars have twin turbo setups that are highly chipable and will achieve 500 plus HP. I suspect in the next 4-6 months alot of those 09 and 10 cars are going to be traded in for those cars because they are out of warranty as a result these older AMGs WILL drop a lot. Plus there is the looming new 2 door s class for 14 that will be a game changer.
Just my opinion.
I think I saw the car you are referring to on ebay. Its listed at $39k but pretty sure you can get it for lower. I dont think there are many buyers for a CL63 with that many miles.
One thing you should consider cars with high miles is that the previous owner most likely drove it daily without issues. Unlike most maserati and astons with low miles, they have low miles because owners were afraid or couldnt drive them. However, if things do break, they are not cheap to fix so be prepared.
