I put a Eurocharged tune in mine and drivability is better than stock since their tune fixes the "lazy throttle" without any negative drivability issues once I cleared the computer.
My butt dyno says it makes a lot more power, but I have no track or dyno #'s to quantify the difference.

+1 on the Eurocharged tune, The 65's are bad *** already, but with the EC tune you go from 500-505 rwhp to 560-565 and the shifting points are much more responsive so it doesn't feel like a slouch. Usually with the EC tune for the SL65s you go from mid to high 11s to mid to high 10s, ttboost on the SL AMG fourms posted his before and after results with a stock file and a EC file and he saw big gains.
I'm about to try my luck at MIR this Saturday if I can get my cat issue resolved, I might just put Q16 in the tank, and hope it cleans out my cats since they aren't fully clogged yet and my new exhausts goes in 3 weeks. Also I figured might as well as get a second file for race gas and compare 93 oct to 116
Also unlike other tuners, after to get the file on your car, when you have an issue with your tune, you just email your file to Jerry and he will work ASAP it's within a day. If you are actually at one of the EC shops its much quicker, I will see Paul and Jerry going back and forth with files every 10-30 mins

For a race tune I had them write mine for vp109. It is the highest octane unleaded you can get. I plan to keep my cats after doing the muffler delete and neither cats or O2 sensors hold up well to leaded fuels like Q16.

5 to 6 passes on Q16 and the 02 sensors will start to fail
