Sold the CL65. Thinking about getting either GT500 or Challenger SRT8

Since selling my raw 800hp supra and now my refined, blistering quick CL65, I need something back in my garage. I want something with a big V8 motor, manual, and rear wheel drive and be able to mod fairly easily. Its a toss up between those two cars (unless there are other suggestions). Which one should I pick up? I'm looking at the 2011 GT500 and same year SRT8 Challenger.

I put a clutch in a GT500 with a 3.6 liter Ken Belle on some drag radials and it was a crazy fast car. I couldn't believe how good it hooked up on the street. It makes 750 to the wheel on pump gas. The interior is so **** house though. I'd go with a ZR1 or C6 Z06 depending on the budget.

You want a crude mod-able car with an attitude. Get a viper or a zr1 and call it a day

2005 CL65
So its a GT500 eh rad? lol.. I cant wait to get this CL65 from you snow cannot melt soon enough.. Good luck in your search.. I still cant believe you arent interested in a viper though.. 4 seats.. Damn kids eh man.. Let me know how you make out.. If your looking for RAW power then I would go with the GT500.. The interiors on these kill me though.. But some of the power they put down is intense..

I've looked at the CTS-V's but I want something more raw than that. I would rather pickup a E55/E63 than take a CTS-V. But that's just me.

The E550 is also twin turbo. He could go with that and send to AMS for modifications. I read they were working on a high hp turbo upgrade kit. They already have the Alpha 9 package available for the E63: 850 hp 900 lb-ft tq.

If you want a 4 seater look at the zl1 cars. They can be made to make stupid power and handle better than the gt500.

Did you cross shop any other cars? What year GT500 did you buy?

I've been thinking about this. I might just wait 2-3 years and pick up a used CLS/E63 with the biturbo V8 motor. Those cars are insane... The beauty of old age is the patience is better and 3 years will fly by like a weekend (at least that's what it seems). In the spring, I'm going to go start driving all of the cars that are a "maybe" on my list and go from there.

If you were thinking about that Ford GT500, the 2015 looks to be a huge upgrade both exterior and interior might want to wait out for that.

They are selling one at auction this weekend I believe. Charity

Be hard for me to gow from a Cl65 supercar to a Mustang but they can be made to go fast. Why not get a GTR, since you had a supra before.

I can't get past the "ugly" on the GTR. Great cars but not worth the money at this point. A beat 2009 goes for 70+k. That's 997TT territory and lets face it, which car would we rather have... the 997TT.

I can but that number will be closer to $20k. You are right. The 997tt is a much better looking car and for the money that't what I would rather drive too.
