Burning smell followed by parts on the garage floor

Any ideas what they are?
The pieces were stuck together lying on the floor when I pulled the car out yesterday. The one on the right is a melted plastic "washer" and the left peice looks like a plastic cap that snaps over something. Going to get under the car in a few hours to see what I find.

44K miles on the car.
Thanks for the tips. I'll post back as soon as I get look at it.

OMG. Got very lucky this happened pulling out of the garage at home! Time to order some idler pullies since the one on the top passenger side is GONE.

They all fail way too early like I pointed out in some previous posts. The idler pulleys on the bi-turbo V12 engines are the biggest POS pulleys I've ever seen on a car. Just total junk.

Ordering new ones from Speedriven, but unfortunately they do not have the one that failed on my car, just the two that are still OK on my car. They said they are going to start making the one I need and it will be available in 2-3 weeks.
Not really wanting to park my car that long but don't want to spend money on another crappy stock one when Speedriven has a better option coming out so soon either. Maybe it is time to park it for a few weeks and get busy on mods and repairs I was planning to do in a couple months.

You can get a generic one from an autoparts store that will last longer than the stock MB pulley. Just get the dimensions and take to NAPA or another store to match one up.

Only problem is mine utterly disintegrated. The pieces I posted in the first pic are all that is left of the pulley. Thanks for the idea though, I'll look into that and see if I can find a generic replacement.

Oh the belt is definitely toast, lol. I knew that as soon as shardul said it was a pulley the belt was toast. Already have a new one. Now the biggest problem is how to get all the melted belt and plastic off of the remaining pullies.

OK, looks like I got a typical CL, not the ultra reliable unicorn I hoped mine would be.
So the I pulled the plastic skid plates off the car to remove the belt and see my dead end ABC hose is oily. It wasn't oily the first time I checked it when I got the car in October about 2,000 miles ago. I did change the ABC filter and top off the reservoir (which was low) when I first got the car but otherwise haven't done any ABC maintainance so I realized I have another repair project on the car.
Aparently that wasn't going to be enough. My son is converting his Chrysler 300 into a rolling stereo and since I was going to Hawaii I moved the CL outside so he could work on building a box for his 2 18" Fi subs in my garage. After all, backing my car out without a belt is no big deal right? I'm not working on my car while I'm out of town on vacation so the car is safer in the driveway than in the garage with my son in there. Any of you with teenage sons probably know what I mean.
Well, if you have aftermarket rims that stick out farther than the stockers, and you have no belt to drive the ABC pump, that would be kind of a bad time for a valve block to go and cause one corner of the car to collapse wouldn't it? So now I also have a collapsed left front strut. I can't raise the car without the pump spinning, can't spin the pump without a belt, can't put on a belt without the top passenger side idler pulley.......
Kind of hate doing multiple projects on a car at the same time but not looking like I have much choice. Maybe while it's down waiting on an idler I can replace the passenger seat SRS sensor, install my line lock & Quaife LSD, ship off the TCU for a tune, replace the non working horn (the only problem MB of Seattle found on their "buyers inspection"), add my sub & amp, try to figure out why it's not making more than 6#'s of boost, find/fix the rattle from the rear package shelf, aaaaaand start working on the ABC system.....
Heck, by the time I'm done it may be time to put my summer tires back on. Starting to see why so many CL65's are low milage cars.
Good thing I love riding this car enough to be willing to spend some time cuddling too, LOL.
