It is good that you are doing all of this crazy stuff with your car prior to your wedding because you are setting excellent precedent. When your wife starts *****ing in a few years that you are car crazy and wasting all of this money on cars...you can just point her to this thread! Pre-existing condition!

Hey everyone been missing for a while but here is why
So now that my wedding is over and I'm back from the honeymoon I will hit the ground running to get this car to the track. Bad part is that before I left on my honeymoon I was making some pulls on the highway and car started misfiring (breaking up) really bad. I may be in need of coil packs. The previous owner replaced just one side of the coil packs so hopefully its one that I have to replace at this point. I will try to track the boys at Speedriven down to get this done as soon as they can get to my car, and after that go straight to the track to get my 10sec pass before I go further with the car. Billet Turbos are next but I def want to see what this thing can do with stock turbos. I'm back now so more updates to come as soon as I figure out whats wrong with the car.

Ok here are the news:
When I got to the shop I had a bunch of codes for mainly left hand side (drivers side) cylinders misfire a bunch of times and only one time for cylinder # 3 which is on the passenger side. Marcin cleared the codes and told me to go around the get on it a bit to misfire and see which codes show when I get back. I went out and car misfired again, after I got back the only codes that showed were for the left hand side. I ordered the Coil Pack for the left hand side from Autozone and waiting on it to come in at this point. Once that is done I will test car again to see if all is well. I should have an update early next week on this. Weather kind of sucks out here anyway so not missing great weather for track.

Yes car is finally out of the shop I had huge issues with FEDEX delivering the package so I decided to go ahead and buy another part since car was down so long. It was the drivers side coil and now after change car runs well with no issues. Speedriven also looked at my plugs and they look fine, going with colder ones anyway after turbos go on. I will be heading out to track sometime this week. We put an offer on a new house this past Friday and the seller and I came to an agreement so a lot of stuff going on that's keeping me away from the car. I will do my best to get some new times this week. Car feels strong and pulls hard, way harder than my last 11.5 run.

Hey Guys,
Gonna try to keep this thread alive as much as I can. I told you guys I would make it out to the track to check how the car runs. So finally yesterday I went to the track and was not very happy but also was not disappointed. My MPH went up since last time by 2 mph and my ET dropped. The 60ft times were very close to the same as last time 1.75. Here are my 2 slips, I'm gonna go and tune the car on the Dyno and come back with a better tire to get my 60ft times down. We will see how it goes from there.

Nice progress! Good luck.. After studying your slips futther, your 1/8 Trap is very healthy. I think if you catch negative -1000 DA like Clayton did in much cooler air etc etc your 10.99 is possible..

THanks for pointing that out I gained a good MPH on the 1/8th time for more tuning up top and back to the track I go. I will also try to get my 60s down since they are 1.75 like last time. DA in midwest is not a good friend of mine when it comes to the track.
That is exactly what I'm aiming for. Still a lot more passes ahead of me and tweaking.
When I fired up the car after work it was close to 1/2 full with 93oct. I drove to get 100oct and only filled it another 1/4 to mix it in a bit. Next time I will be running 100oct only. I think that would not help me a great deal but trying to get into the 10s I guess every little thing counts. 122.6 mph is not great but my 1/8 mile is there. Marcin can get another 2mph or so out of it but than its all on me driving this thing and getting that 1.6x 60 to make things the way I want them.

I stall it up until I feel it pushing the front tires, then I drop the RPM until it holds. That's my target RPM for the day unless the track gets loose. At least that's my intention each time, but I really need a 2-step or something to hold the target RPM so I can focus on the tree.
On my last outing I was seeing 1.6's consistently with a very short burnout using MT ET Street Radials (265/40-18's).

I run ET Streets as well 18s but I have my new 16s waiting for spacers to get slapped on the rear. I will go maybe tomorrow morning and hit the track to see if I can get my 60s lower.

Do you know around what RPM you leave out at? I know you said you go target to where it holds but do you know where that is at?

I believe it's around 1,800-1,900 where I felt it slipping last time.
I thought you upgraded your rear brakes also. If so, you must be spacing those 16's out to clear them. If that's the case, I hope your car doesn't squat and cut a tire.
By the way, what track are you running at?

I ran all my times at Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove WI. I also have Byron Dragway which is a bit further but from what people say its a better track. Might head out that way tomorrow morning and see what I can do.

Yes they are upgraded brakes but the AMG 55 Brake kit not the 65. I also have my 18s. I will run a 25mm spacer out back to clear the brakes on the light weight 16s from the CLK I got them and painted them gloss black

That'll put you right in range in the dead heat of summer, then when fall/winter's here you should realize your goals
Tell Marcin to modify your Diverter Valves, few turns will hold psi longer thru the powerband similar to gaining at least 2 psi.. My SL felt great after that mod!
Edit: the CLK wheels being so light will also bump your Trap speeds up an easy 1-1.5 mph faster..
