WHEN?
June 5th, 6th, and 7th.
WHERE?
Columbus, Ohio
WHY?
Timmayfest really started out as a small BMW/Mercedes car meet made up of people who only knew each other by communicating over online car forums such as Ohiobimmers.com, and MBworld.com. We decided it was finally time to get together and really meet the people behind the computer screens. We chose to hold it in Columbus, Ohio since it was a central location for those involved. I volunteered to organize it along with help from a few other local guys. Jokingly, we named it "Timmayfest" after the screen name that I use on the before mentioned forums, Timmay77, which against my better judgement, it has remained. The word spread that there was going to be a car meet in Ohio through other online forums, thus growing. We managed to put together 130 cars the first year (2010), over 200 the second year (2011), growing to 250+ in 2012 and 2013.
WHAT TO EXPECT THE WEEKEND OF TIMMAYFEST.
2010 was basically just a car meet/dyno day on a Saturday which included Eurocharged's mobile dyno followed by a dinner that evening. In 2011, we added a "Drag Racing Night" on Friday night at a privately rented drag strip, had the meet on Saturday, then dinner on Saturday night. The decision was made to add the "Drag Racing Night" so people had the opportunity to SAFELY and LEGALLY have some fun in these amazing cars. In 2012, we then added a "Dyno Day" at IPS Motorsports. Giving people a chance to get their cars dyno'd for a small fee to see what kind of power they are putting down. In 2012 & 2013 we hired a police escort to caravan us "parade style" from IPS Motorsports, who graciously offered to act as our starting location, to the restaurant for dinner on Saturday night following the meet. The escort turned out to be a group favorite event! The police completely shutdown several highways and surface streets for our caravan. After dinner, a large group of us head back to the hotel to enjoy some social time in the hotel bar.
2014's planning is well under way!

My 05 CL65 was a special order in midnight blue.
I also am not fond of black and platinum is too common. Most our vehicles have been white, but this CL65 in midnight blue is perfect in my opinion. I suspect it may be the only W215 CL65 in that color and by the sticker (still have it) they added $4,000 to price for the color as a special order. Midnight blue with a Java interior is an unusual color combination. Wicked on the outside, docile interior. Probably most would have opted for a black interior with that color exterior. But I like what the original buyer was thinking (I'm owner #2).
Black and platinum are great showroom colors and look great in photos. No so much on the street in my opinion. But that is a matter of personal preference. Generally I don't like blue cars. But the midnight blue on this CL65 is perfect in my view and the vented fenders give it at least some curb appeal - something CL65s lack. Rear fender lips rolled and the rear fenders slightly stretched out.
It was this color combined with it being Renntech R3 upgraded that lead me to purchasing it last year as a trade-in at an Audi dealer by the original owner. 67K miles. $30K price. The dealer had put new correct Michelins on it and the Renntech airbox/motor cover told the story on the upgrading.
It spent 3 months at a custom paint and body shop including adding vented front fenders and a total uncompromised redo such as new rubber molding, total body disassembly (except doors) etc to perfect it cosmetically. It now is currently is at Renntech for servicing.

I guess I did inject into a tiny group fantasizing and boasting of all the things they are going to do to their CL sometime in the future, daydreaming of turning their CL into a bracket racer.
Hey, if you want a sub 10 second bracket racer go hang out at small town tracks. You can pick up a sub 10 car for under $10K.

Congrats on the new 65! I just sold mine
but am looking for another
. Will post pics! My CL was stock as I could tell, however it made 541WHP and 722 TQ consistently on a mustang dyno. Was this a strong factory car perhaps?

If you didn't buy it new it may have had an ECU tune and you didn't know it.
