2009 CL63
I'm after front rotors and pads all round and need to make sure this combo will be ok.
Rockauto has the front centric (stoptech) rotors Centric part #12535101
EBC show yellowstuff and some sites show redstuff for the cl63. Redstuff is fine as car is just a cruiser. EBC redstuff part number front DP31941C and rear DP31942C. Is this combo ok?
I'm not trying to be cheap it is just that MBenz NZ wants nearly $8k NZD just for front rotors and pads all round and I know I can do it for a lot less by importing the parts myself. Thanks.
I just bought a 2009 CL 63 also and looking for rotors. Here's what I found and it's an OE.

They have fairly priced high quality rotors and pads for W216 CL AMG.
They have fairly priced high quality rotors and pads for W216 CL AMG.
The price is 800€ for one front disc/rotor by the brand "Textar" which is OE to many Mercedes models.
Mercedes Dealer Price here is 1300€ per rotor.
One kit of front pads is 150€. Rear Pads are 100€ for the kit. Brand is "TRW" for both which is part of ZF/SACHS Group - they make excellent brakes, i driven them on my former C36AMG W202 and on other cars we own in the family.
You can also opt for Textar (also OE) rear pads for 115€/Kit. Possible is also special dust reduced pads by TRW for 150€/Kit.
But for this i need to know which brand brake calipers you have. The Series where these pads do fit (basically all 63 model S and CL class of a specific year), were delivered with calipers either by "ATE" or "TEVES".
The former would be better...
I think you should see a marking on your calipers if you remove the wheels.
So for example total Price would be:
- 1600€ Rotors Front (2403 NZD as of today)
- 150€ Front Pads (225 NZD as of today)
- 100€ Rear Pads (150 NZD as of Today)
- 92 - 130€ for Shipping depending on total weight (between 138 and 195 NZD as of today). *
So you would stay below 3000NZD* for material and shipping. I dont know about your import charges unfortunately.
Tell me what you think, but keep in mind that i have all the work with ordering them seperately here in germany, possibly picking them up, repackage them, drive them to next DHL store and so forth, so i would think if you would give me between 50€ - 100€ then for my expenses it would be great.
*EDIT: Forget the shipping prices, DHL will be more expensive. I just saw that one single disc/rotor is already 17KG! DHL has maximum weight of 31.5KG for international shipping per package. So we could do one large package with the one disc and all the pads and hopefully stay below the 31.5KG and a second package with the second disc. Or i will search for a different shipping company (i know some from my workplace we use for international shipping).

Seems like I am getting some good options. Thanks again.

So if you take that deal, just write me a PM.
Shipping would be most likely 130€ for the large package and another 92€ for the smaller one with the single disc/rotor. It will not get cheaper, i checked all shipping companies like UPS, etc. The rates they offer are around (No joke!) 600-900€ for shipping.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I have just been on the phone with racingbrake.com and they also have a very good and well priced package for the CL63 but I'm not sure on the correct pads for there specific rotors.

EDIT: Just heard from Racingbrake and the Porterfield R4-S are compatible with there rotors. So this combo should be a good low dust option for the CL63.

The best combination I could get at the best price shipped to NZ was:
Porterfield R4-S pads shipped to Shipito, then forwarded to NZ.
Racingbrake Rotors from Amazon shipped to Shipito, then forwarded to NZ.
Should be about a 55% savings on what MBenz NZ is charging.

only 22K miles!
The CL63 AMG is the rarest W215 CL of all. It was produced only in November 2001 and just 26 examples were sold. The engine produces 438 bhp and 390 lb-ft torque between 2500 - 5800 rpm, with a peak of 457 @ 4400 rpm. Some UK examples were registered in March 2002. The V12 powered CL63 AMG was only sold in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asia. Mercedes-Benz never offered the W215 CL63 for sale; all were sold exclusively through AMG.

Thank you.
Good luck with your new brakes and if there is anything we can do in the future please feel free to let us know.
