Thinking of purchasing an 08 or 09 CL63. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi everyone. After my brief one year stint with a 2010 C63 Edition 1, I really am missing the torque and horsepower that these AMG engines produce. Now that I am a tad older (still young though) I was thinking of something a tad more refined. I was pleasantly surprised to see how reasonable a 2008 or 2009 CL63 was, granted with some higher mileage. I have a Jeep Wrangler for everyday use so this would only be a weekend cruiser seeing maybe at most 5k miles per year.
Anything I should look out for? Any one of those years I should steer clear of? I just started my research but figured I would give this forum a shot also. Many thanks in advance for your help!
I was thinking maybe one of these...

I would suggest getting DESIGNO car, which means higher quality leather.
I, myself, bought 09 and it is perfect. Just make sure that suspension, especially shock absorbers are in good condition, brakes too (one rotor costs 1200 USD), so you don't face buying expensive parts. Also, check the ABC pump if it makes any kind of noise, as these things tend to go away quite quickly and cost a lot of money to replace - mine was replaced at 65k miles and costed 4k USD with labor. Other than that, I believe it should be all right.

Of course pay attention to any kind of weird noises coming from the car, check the transmission, it shouldn't be jerky, gear changes have to be flawless. Engine tends to be quite rough on idle, I learned it's normal.

I would look into 2009/2010, as it is the last year of pre-facelift version with 6.2 N/A engine. Newer versions are little bit more powerful, faster, but as I learned at Mercedes dealership here in Europe, the 5.5 Bi-Turbo engine is not reliable and they get a lot of car with many different problems.

Also, are you keeping the M4 or switching for the CL63?

My mechanic told me recently, that one of my engine mounts is KO and I have to replace it. Price was not too bad, though. It was something like 250-300USD.

You have to do all 3 at same time. It's all the same labor so just parts.

Please don't change one mount lol.

'08 CL63
If you haven't taken one for a test drive yet, bear in mind that this is a different animal from a C63. The CL is a tank & the NA 63 engine, while not underpowered, definitely doesn't respond the way the smaller cars do. Even with a tune & headers, mine isn't wild.

As far as a CLS63 as an option, that's okay, but I would compare the CLS interior to an E class, the CL & S are on a different level of luxury than the others.

I'd possibly entertain selling mine (Blk/Blk, w/CF interior, appx 55,000 mi), but I'm out of the country until mid-April. I'm fighting the GTS bug...

This is the guy that suggested I put 150$ rotors from some supply company in Western Europe for a CL550 on my 63.

Just terrible advice. This is mostly labor. When replacing engine mounts the flex plate and trans mounts are all right there. Probably $300 in parts.

You'll find out.....

Again a fail lol.

CL is based on Sclass chassis and suspension. cls is based on E class architecture. Not that that's bad but your talking about two different animals.

But CLS is lighter hahaha.

Thank you guys so much for all the responses. We just bought a house so this might have to be put on hold. The plan was to get rid of the M4 and possibly just get this. But for now I will hang onto our current cars. The CL really is such a gorgeous car with such great lines. I love the mix of luxury and performance. Thank you again for all the insight! So much to consider....
