Truck driver decided to make a U-Turn from the freeway onramp and cut left through both lanes of traffic...right in front of me.

Wow. Glad you're OK. It's amazing that you were able to walk away from that. Car crumpled exactly like it was designed to. You're probably gonna be a little sore tomorrow though.
Not a pretty sight. Glad you are OK. I know the "sinking feeling" when you have to look back at the situation. Just got my car out of the body shop. A lot less severe than yours. Look on the bright side. Time to go shopping for a replacement. Good luck.

Quick search on cars.com revealed very limited inventory of W216 AMG cars and, surprisingly, they are selling close to 10K over KBB suggested values but I am determined to find one with low mileage!

Like others have said, glad you are ok. Too bad about the car, but glad you were in that, not a Geo or Prius.
Lots of times, injuries from crashes like yours manifest over time once the adrenalin wears off and the soreness & stiffness sets in. Believe me, untreated & undertreated old MVC injuries are what keeps my schedule full. Pay attention to how you feel over the next couple weeks. Hopefully nothing new shows up to interfere with you W216 shopping.
