CL65 Prior Design Black Edition Wide Body
Picked up this BEAST at my local exotic car dealership. 2008 Designo Edition with only 39K miles and authentic Prior Design kit. Pretty sure at one point it was a SEMA vehicle. Had new motor mounts installed today along with ABC lines flushed. Sitting on rear 13" wide Forgiatos / 355 Pirellis. Renntech R2 package being installed shortly for 900LBs of TQ. Car is a blast to drive.

Very nice...
I feel you 100%. My wide body will be going into the paint booth next week finally after two months of bodywork to get it perfect.
You're car is spectacular but I wish there was something practical you could do to change the color of your interior from tan. That seems to not fit the scheme of the car. Look at this rendering I did to spruce up an all black interior to a red two tone.
What did you pay for your car if you don't mind me asking?

What year is your CL65 and how many miles? That is a steal with the R3 package. Congrats to you. Did you buy it in FL?

The R3 package includes the tranny upgrades. After a lot of research with a local Renntech technician, I'll simply build a tranny later if I begin to have slippage. The CL65 has the 722.6 tranny which is bullet proof. The CL63 has the 722.9 tranny.

I've been following your build thread. Your car will be awesome. I'm lucky that my car had an authentic PD kit ($16K) already installed when I bought it, as well as the 13" wide Forgiatos. Because of the wide set up, this is why I am going with more Renntech power. I can't imagine having the OEM wheel on back. Major traction issues. I've already mastered the car and turn off traction control, that is why I want more power. Do yourself a favor and forget about the interior for now, and put on a wide wheel. My R2 Renntech package is being delivered this week. Hand made Carbon Fiber airbox included. I will do interior last. It is mostly black. Designo seats are black with tan headliner and dash. It is very clean inside.
I paid $57K for the car.

But I definately feel where you're headed as far as direction!

Good to hear wide bodies can command top dollar if you are lucky enough to find the right buyer. I want to enjoy the car for at least a year before I sell her off. I also own Rolls Royce Ghost which is basically a glorified BMW 760Li but truthfully, the CL is a far better car to drive on a daily basis. If the CL turns out the way I want, I am going to flip the RR and call it a day. A wide CL is about as much bang as one can get for <$50K. I can't think of any other car that looks as good with as many features, quality, speed, comfort for under $50k.
Can you?

The reason I asked is because I was just offered $42K a few days ago from a kid who came through the shop. My car has 79K mi and your car seems to be a bit more involved so I see where you were happy to shell out the $57k on a WB with 39k mi. I can't say for sure if he was serious enough to complete the deal but he said he'd go get $40k and "close today". When I said that wasn't quite enough, he responded..."$42...?". I told him to leave his phone number and he did.

Yeah my ride is definitely not my daily driver with 10mpg in the city, but I plan on keeping the car for a very long time. I've been very happy so far with ride comfortability and performance. At the time I bought the car, I was also looking at Porsche Turbo Panameras and Bentley Coupes.
My only car I'm drooling on now is a RR autobiography with red interior like this....

Christmas came early this year.....
Renntech R2 package installed along with German-made PedalBox 3S Electronic Throttle Controller. Utilized the old telephone key pad for ETC placement. Already driving the car with traction control off. The 355 Pirelli provides incredible traction even with 900LBs of torque.
Next list of mods:
- Valentine One Hard Wire
- Updated headlights? What are my options?
- Carbon Fiber Interior including steering wheel
- Illuminated Door Sills
- Remote Starter
Any other suggestions for the '08?

More exhaust work being done to include Electronic Exhaust Valve Control for volume variation and ceramic coating. Also having a Torque Converter installed which should bring torque well above 1,000 LBs.

Beautiful exhaust work done by Tommy at Quantum Mechanics, HB. Electronic exhaust dumps and ceramic coating complete.

Thank you for your comment. I'm really enjoying the deeper exhaust note and I'm also dealing with Smog legality here in CA. The dumps are controlled by a remote and there is a significant difference between the loud and "quiet" mode. I'm having so much fun driving this BEAST it's ridiculous. Laser detector is working over time on the 73 Toll Road AKA South OC Autobahn.

Would have made much more sense to just run a pipe through the mufflers or just hollow them out. The exhaust cutouts are definitely illegal per CA.V.C. 27150. You will fail visual as is. At least you would have a chance with a pipe running through the muffler.
