Rear caliper bolts

Rear caliper bolts
Long story short, I need new caliper mount bolts for the rear of my 2005 CL65. Ordered them from the dealer and they tried to give me front caliper bolts. They ordered me new bolts and my wife picked them up while I was at work, but they look a lot different than the ones that got ruined. I'm planning to winch the car from my toy hauler into the garage tomorrow and put it all together Friday, but I may be out of luck with these bolts. I've looked up the part # they sold me (A 123 421 02 71) and it is not shown as fitting the rear caliper of my car, but rather the front of a S65. I can't find it listed on line on any of the Mercedes parts sources I know of. Anyone know a source I might be able to find the right part number at?

Matt, I would try contacting the dealer in the link below. They are one of the biggest in the New York/ New Jersey metro area. I would think any dealer should be able to provide it, but the possibility of none in stock always exists. Send pictures of the broken one, if possible,so there is a better shot of matching it up. Have you been able to remove it or do you need to drill it out? Are there any local places that can match the size and thread pitch? Not sure if the concern becomes of the bolts strength, but having an accurate size sounds like the first problem. Good luck.

If the dealer doesn't help, I would remove a good bolt, measure it, and buy some more to the same spec. The steel grade should be on the bolt head, if you can still read it. It will probably say 8.8 or 10.9 or 12.9 (best).
It will be cheaper than the dealer, and may be quicker, and you get the same part or better. I've done it many times before - yes, on brakes. Hope I'm not stating the obvious here.

The bolts got bent when the hub was in a press, so no problem removing them, they are already out. I already bought bolts the same thread size & pitch to temporarily hold the caliper in place, but the origonal bolts have a shoulder on the shaft that is larger than the thread pitch to align the caliper because the holes in the caliper are larger than the threaded hole. Kind of a special bolt. If I would have picked them up myself I would have not accepted them again as the correct bolt is clearly unique in design for that reason. My wife didn't know this and just picked them up. I was hoping to find the correct part # before heading back to give the dealer a third try.

Well, after getting the car winched into the garage and comparing the bolts, it looks like you are correct and these are the right bolts. Looking at them in the package the shank didn't appear thick enough, but while shaped a little different, they will work fine. Can't wait to get to drive my CL again!
