CL600 vs CL65 front brake swap
hello,
i want to swap my CL600 front brake rotors (360mm) in CL65 rotors (390mm). The caliper is the same but the brackets are different.
Does anyone have these brackets for sale or does anyone know if there is a aftermarket part that fit for this project?
If not maybe someone can give me the brembo batched number on the brackets. Any help will be very appreciated. THX a lot for your replys.......

Maybe my friend have W220 S65 (390mm) brackets, or even he can make (390mm) custom brackets,
he got a shop, and made many brackets, for many brake upgrade application,,
if you can't find brackets near you, i can tell him to make pair (as required)..

that sounds good. It will be great if you can ask your friend if he has some OEM brackets for sale. I prefer the OEM version but if there are no brackets available in the next weeks i will take the custom ones.
Thanks a lot for your help......

I did this a few years ago on my w220 s600.
I used s600 brackets, longer bolts and some cylindrical spacers.
It worked very well, and the improved braking was fantastic.

Nick, thanks a lot for the tip. In the last months many many times i was thinking about to do this with spacers. But i didn't dare to make it and the german TÜV is very rigorous in checking vehicle brakes.
Maybe cm60k can get some OEM brackets....

Glad to see I’m not the only one considering upgrading w215 brakes in late 2019,
i have an idea I am trying soon and will report back the findings, I’ve not seen this mentioned anywhere

I ordered 2008 CL63 brakes for my 2002 w215 as rumor has it, these are direct swap from w216 to w215 and just as strong as the big amg brakes I’ve had my eyes on lately
Just a heads up for anyone wanting better brakes on the cl500/600. These have the same stopping rating as the older amg brakes we all love, but with bigger rotors and half the price
The only downside is I think the w215 amg brakes look more sexy, but twice the price sexy? I’m not sure

I found a shop that sells many new & used MB parts,
seller got an original brackets, removed from 05 S65 calipers,
he needs ($330) = (AED1200),,
i told him for better price, but he refused..

Thank you very much for asking in the shop.
Wow, 330 USD is a big price. Is it possible to get some time to think it over?
Tomorrow i will let you know if yes or no.
Thanks again for the help, i appreciate that!

interesting project with the W216 brakes.... I am curious about it
I prefer the W215 brakes, i love the design with the bolts on the rotors

Which rotors did you use? As far as I know, no one makes an aftermarket rotor for a w216 AMG. Mind you this was 5 years go so maybe someone is finally making them now. Can you send me a link.

update:
first many many thanks to Zayed (cm60k) for his help to realize this projekt :
I picked up the brackets at the customs and 2 days later i got them back from the painter
Here you can see the difference between the 600TT barackets vs. the 65 brackets
After removing all the brake parts clean the steel sheed
Although the Brembo numbers of all calipers CL55K, CL600TT and CL65 are all the same is there a small detail which is essential for this swap.... the cutout in the inside (have just the 65s)
Lets sand the calipers to make the cutout
painted with the paint stick temporary
After all is fixed, ready to bleed the system
Finished
here the cutout.... now in the OEM look
Today i have decided to respray the calipers back to silver 744.
I love the stock look of these cars so much. The gold colour was a leftover of my tuning era ;-)

Those new rotors look great
regarding my w216 rotor/caliper swap question, I bought used s63 rotors from a 2008 for about $289 shipped. If one was to search long enough I think a 390mm rotor can be found with a decent price, but yes a lot of places want $600+
Mercedes GLE is another car with 390mm rotors by the way, but such a new car not all places have aftermarket options available

Great job mate, and Thanks a lot for those nice pics..,
you are really smart to catch these hidden lines in S65 calipers,,
Gold is kinda nice, but also Brilliant Silver "744" is amazing, when your car is dark, such "gray/Blue/Red/Black"..,,
