Doing some interior work on my car, and the oem parts guys, as well as some oem-restoration-type material suppliers (like GAHH, who the MB classics center referred me to) is quite confused on leathers and carpets, even when using my vin. My datacard shows (thanks again pmercury) both "580A Condor/Exclusive AMG Leather" and "581A Exclusive Graphite/Anthracite Leather". The oem guys call it charcoal. In any event, anyone know what "Condor" is? A google search seems to pull it up on older E55's with two tome greyish leather packages. My interior is not two tone.

Trying to match up codes and part numbers and certainties for your specific vehicles is murder in CL's. Had no such problems on my '09 E63. I know a whole lot fewer CL's were made, but sheesh. The amount of misinformation and confusion is surprising and frustrating.

Thanks again, pmercury. The oem part number is where the trouble begins. That seat bottom is no longer available anywhere in the US or Germany. The MBUSA classics center in Irvine pulled it too and found out the same. They don't even show one on a back stock in Russia. That's when he referred me to GAHH. They have the kits for the w215, and can also make one from scratch if send them the old one, but there is no consensus on the exact matching leather, and they call what they say is correct for my car charcoal nappa leather. I don't think nappa came along until a few MY's later (I could be wrong here). They say anthracite is the same as charcoal and they may be right, but I'm dubious; I'm having them send a swatch. I saw a 2007 W216 CL65 that the window sticker said had exclusive anthracite "corteccio" leather; the classics center said that is the proper leather for my car. GAHH, worldupholstery and other restoration places have never heard of it. I'm down a rabbit hole. Part of the problem is the seat back was replaced recently before I bought the car with the oem piece, which is still available; however, the seat is not. Trying like hell to make sure of a definite match. We'll see where all this research and hand wringing gets me.

Thanks again for all your help. Mucho appreciated.

Thanks pmercury

Just saw this and wanted to say thank you again. You pulled my info a while back, as well as helped me in the past. Guys, especially newer ones, this really helps you understand what the options are on your car. If you bought a used one and never got this, here’s a great opportunity.
