It seems kinda funny to me as how MB was saying that this was an exclusive automobile but we're seeing pics of 65's all over, from black SL65's to this CL65 and available slots all across the US. Doesn't asnyone else find this peculiar? Not a bad thing, just means more sportscars can fall prey to a Mercedes-Benz, and thats what we like to hear!

It also bodes poorly for resale

All CL65s running around bodes poorly for resale. If Mercedes really restricted production to 200 worldwide, this wouldn't be a problem.

MBUSA released a ton of 65's at the same time. This pretty much ruined the chance for people to make ridiculous sums of money off them. Sure, they will still sell for over window, but not for long and not for as much as we originally thought they would.

Also, by doing this MBUSA sort of screwed the 'exclusivity'. The 65's are still very exclusive since there are not many, but having 50 vehicles hit at once doesn't help.

I went to our local dealership here in the UK, they had at 148K GBP, an S65L, in silver, awesome as usual, and the engine was massive. I'm sure I don't need to brag about this car to Merc enthusiasts as ourselves.

The most funny thing was the salesman told me how his neck kept hurting after flooring that sucker on a test drive, BUT I told him all this power is useless form 0-anyspeed, its the 60-120mph sprints that this car whacks ***, to which he replied "get it on a track and then we'll see" To which I nearly crapped my pants, ok, as good as AMG chassis' are, turning up at the Nordschliefe in your S65L, man you deserve to be laughed at!

But what phenomenal cars, the 19inch gunmetal wheels are AWESOME and the brakes even more so!

I think the video from that English car show really showed how "useless" the handling was against the DB9 and the Bentley Continental. In the 1/2 mile it was embarrassing how much the CL65 killed the other cars. I think the 1/4 mile would have been a little closer, but not by much. The tug-o-war was also interesting, but it was done on wet pavement.

nothing right now :(
It truly looks amazing, and I'm sure the owner will be very happy. The price seems a little absurd, I mean $37K over MSRP, you can buy a really nice C for that, can't you? But it is a beauty, maybe if I decide to give up on the SL55, I might consider this as an option?

The car is in the showroom. I saw it today. The car is in Buena Park, CA USA, and the buyer backed out of the sale so it's available again.

See the link below for pics I took today (hope the link works):

Yes, that was a bit unfair.. The pulling power on wet pavement with wide tires is at best half of that on dry pavement.
