CL65 on the Autobahn

CL65 on the Autobahn
I had the pleasure of picking up a CL65 today in Sindelfingen and drive it on the Autobahn above 100 MPH for an extended period. Clearly the Autobahn is the perfect element for this car as speed, ride quality and handling were all excellent. I think the only flaw is the exhaust note which I think sounds like a truck. Definately a big step up versus my CL600, but so is the price.

Delimiting
AMG offered to delimit my car for about $3,000 which would allow me to drive 188, but I figured that I would only get to drive that fast maybe that one week I had the car in Germany, so I passed.

150 speed limiter is done because of the law.
If the car is purchased in Germany and to be driven there - speed limiter can be moved up (no limit?) but :
1. pay extra
2. sign some paper work
3. Insurance company is notified.
or be one of the big bosses at Sindelfingen and have special car without speedlimiter and some extra mods.

De-limited
I was offered the opportunity to de-limit the car, which means they raise the limit to 188 mph, the limits of the tire rating, before I picked the car up. I figured I would only be able to use this capability between Stuttgart and Strasbourg (my planned route) which is less than two hours. So I passed.
