The hood on my 2012 CL63 AMG has been fading really bad. I performed many searches for a Carbon Fiber replacement , with ZERO luck! Even reached out to a few manufacturers for CL63 Carbon hood - each one replied nothing available. If I had a CLS63 i'd be in luck, but nothing for a CL63... DAMN!
Next best thing to fix this fading hood was to get it wrapped in carbon fiber. Actually it came out better then I first thought it would (see attached photos). I've also gone and had the calipers painted/cleared in sublime green, wanted to do something different to make the car stand out. Got many compliments on them. Next up is the custom license plate that on order - AMG2NV.
I've gone and ordered a set of NGK 97506 (one step colder plugs) along with (8) coil packs that should be installed this upcoming weekend. Just waiting on the cross drilled/slotted rotors and pads to show up so can do all the updates as once. I'm still plan to remove the mid-resonator along with getting a Tuned Mercedes ECU calibration (dongle shows up Monday 13NOV2023). Once the dongle arrives will be able to have few calibrations for the CL63.
Don't find many CL63 that are modified, so I've started a tiktok page : CL63_2NV to start making videos of all the mods as I go. Picked up a dragy motorsports as well to get a base line - either i'm frying the tires or bogging it down. Best 0-60mph totally stock is 4.69 seconds. Not bad for a 5000lbs (with driver) pig! Carbon fiber wrapped hood on CL63 AMG Sublime Calipers Front Caliper painted sublime green Rear caliper painted sublime green Dragy unit from 2012 CL63 AMG (stock no mods, has Weistec Air filter). Was able to finally get a 1/4 mile pull in the 2012 CL63 AMG. The 0-60 is slower then my best but will gladly take a 12 second run at 116mph. Still learning how to drive the car off the line. I can’t get over how fun this car is to drive. Car only has Weistec Air Filters and weighs 4995 lbs with me in it! Just need to get better traction and should be alot quicker.
