Saw a CL65 Poser today

On I-95 in Ft Lauderdale today a CL65 blew by me and since I had never seen one in person before, I caught up to it. It said CL65 and AMG on the back and had the standard AMG Bodykit, but also had Lorinser front fenders. It said V12 Biturbo on the sides, but no Gray AMG 19" rims. I believe the rims were the stock CL600 rims. This made me think, why would someone spend $190,000 on this beautiful piece of machinery, remove the gorgeous factory rims and replace them with lesser ones, and cheapen its look with the Lorinser fenders? I suspect it was a CL600 with the 2 zeroes replaced with a 5 and the AMG emblem added.

Geez, isn't a $130,000 car enough of a statement?

too many to list
Yea Dr those kind of people are stupid, I would take pride in is CL600 which in itself is an amazing vehicle. There are dum asses out there and its hard to understand their reasoning. By the way you can't replace single stickers they all come out for example the CL600 came out for the CL65 to go in you cant take off zero's to add 5 haha I am no laughing at you because you probably didn't know anything about this. Here in Canada people with Long Wheelbase S430 change the stickers to S500, *******s coz you can barely tell the differece.

What did you just try to say?
YES you can remove the 00 and add a 5.
The letters and #’s on the rear of the cars are individual.

See picture!

Dr Chill,

I read about someone spotting a fake CL65 (I think it was) at the Fort Lauderdale Galleria.
Speaking of dumb badging…I saw this in Adventure last weekend.

A STOCK SL500 with a AMG and Lorinser badge.

And in Coral Gables, before the TT V12 SL600 was out, I saw this SL500 with SL600 badging on the rear and V12 (from the 02 and older model SL600 cars) on the fenders.

I have come to expect that kind of stuff in south Florida.

AMG SL 55
SL500 owners always have a jealous look on their face when they see a real SL55 drive by. I understand why they would want to change badges.

I have seen more benz's with poser emblems than basic integras with type r badges all over it. The most common ones I see are SL500 AMGs, ML430s which are magically changed to ML55 AMGs, E500 AMGs. I mean cmon people get if you want an AMG then buy and AMG! The only "custom" badging I like is taking the badges off completely, other than that don't be a poser!

Those kinds people are really cheap!!! Becuase there are too many those kinda guys, BMW and MB offer M sport pack and AMG pack... You see the marketing directors are super smart, they really understand the weakness of those posers---- jealousy!! Here in Canada, tons of E320 AMGs or CLK320 AMGs, fake 55s and fake M3s and S4s...... Who do they think they could fool? Cheap girls or other posers ? I don't understand their mentality at all.....

RB's

If the intended target for this rebadging is regular people, I have to say that none of them know the difference between a CL65 or a CL500, or a 2000 model from a 2005. To them it all looks like the same car. So if you are rebadging for them to think you are cooler, you are wating your time.

If the intended target is people in the know, like enthusiasts and people on this forum, they spot the differences anyway... you are not going to fool them and you REALLY look like a wannabe in front of this group. So again, you are just wasting your time.

Apparently the RB's (re-badgers) don't have enough sense to think of this.
