Almost impossible, their margins are so tight bc of the low MSRP. You won't be able to get discount until they are readily on lots in 2 years time. Until then dealers are getting very limited allotments so you basically have to order them and wait many many months

Loyalty?
Are you kidding?

Have you seen the douchebags selling these cars now?
Clowns. Clowns.

I was so infuriated with the sales rep at the NAIAS, she should have been selling Chevrolets instead of AMGs. They have no clue of the history or pedigree.

I might be an exception here! I have the best AMG salesman, buying my second car off him, has said there will be a little off but not much being limited edition and AMG

I got 2k off. Mine is running over 60K....they definitely have some wiggle room. The dealer screwed up my C63 deal last year so they gave me a little break.

Which dealer did you go to. I went to Arlington, Tyson's, and chantilly and neither of them are budging.

I am probably going to print my coupon from USAA and get like $2500 to like $3500 off. Plus another $800-$1000 on registration savings from being in the military (lieu tax exception).
I am expecting a good deal anyways, I purchased a C63 AMG new in 09 and a C300 new in 2011

$60 is a good deal? what did you order? every option?, I am hoping to pay like $47500 out of the door with virtually no options. I don't think I will order anything since I buy a car almost every year(two year tops).

Holly *****!!! lol, you virtually checked on every option !!!.

If I order one if would be very basic. There are things that I would never put on a car but then there are others that I appreciate very much. Thanks for your input!

lol, and that is the problem! I have $17k in options and I tried to cut down! lol

$65k is easy, the car can be past $70k with everything.

At $60-70K, Mercedes should have deigned a much better dashboard. Nice exterior but the interior is an utter disappointment. Definitely not as nice as a C63. Hoping the car drives as good as it looks when paying $60K+ for a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder.

I can assure everyone that discounts are not the word when it comes to CLA-AMG, but rather, can I get one. This car created so much buzz in the automotive world, that MB will have a hard time meeting the demand. Yes, that is every carmaker dream, but it can be a problem too.
As a MB salesperson for years, I can tell you that guys in the dealership are shocked about how many people are coming and asking for the car.....
People that placed the order for one congrats....you might even get offers for more than what you paid for......
One more month.......

Dang...didn't realize they could add up so fast. Glad I've gone with the C 63. M-B should have definitely design interior, especially for the Nav/Info screen. My wife didn't want me to get it just because of that one part alone.

I have to disagree. USAA offers discounts on just about every model. I was recently interested on thier E550 4 matic and they had it for $5998 off, all you have to do is print the certificate if you are eligible. Costco has similar programs.

On another note, I might be one in a million Mercedes owner that knows what "hold back" means. Exactly...!!!! everyone right now is wondering: what the hell is this guy(me) talking about?
Well, hold back is the price in which the dealer gets their discount so put in other words, when you think that there is no "margin" of profit, there is actually lots of profit margin between invoice and hold back, you just wouldn't not know what that profit is. There are a few categories of buyers, just put yourself in whichever fits your lifestyle:

Stage 1- (the weakest person/buyer) will buy the car above MSRP (it could be you), certainly not me.
Stage II-You can buy at MSRP (you are being fooled by the dealer), they are getting their profit margin from hold back to MSRP out of your pocket
Stage III - Then you have the motivated sharp car buyer which will negotiate and get a price between invoice and MSRP(most of the people)
Stage III- Someone like me that will negotiate dicounts from USAA or other sponsored Mercedes companies plus negotiate a price.

If you ever want to have a head start, just go to Edmunds and you can see their invoice. I can see a dealer having a limited allocation but you can ALWAYS order one.

Totally disagree and I will prove you incorrect. USAA will have a few thousands dollars off on their website. This car is nothing special, is just a little different on their line up(4 cylinder turbo AWD and blah blah) buts nothing special or collective.

This car is in par with the BMW 1 M or the Audi RS3, in fact, this is the reason why Mercedes had to step up because it was behind. I guarantee you that you would not have to wait two years and I just can't wait for USAA to update their website promotion coupons.

As far is the "margin", refer to the post above in which I explain what hold back is. 99.9999999999% of the people buying cars believe that there is just invoice and MSRP. Even selling at invoice price the dealer still makes their money on their hold back. Hold back is the dealers pricing, similar to what a gap between a invoice and MSRP would be.

I have seen many of these "anticipated" cars before, I recall the Pontiac solstice or the $80k Shelby Cobra KR to be outdone by the basic Shelby cobra for $30000 less a year and a half later. This car is not collective, it is attractive but is in the market because Audi and BMW launched their hot sports car before...

Never heard of USAA. Do you have to be a member to receive the discount?

Congrats. My dealer told me that USAA does only one car per year, my last car was purchased the l;ast day of 2012(31 Dec 2012) so I should be able to get a discount through USAA. The C63 are discounted $2000, the E class $5500 to $6000 and the GLKs are $3500 off, I am hoping the CLAS to be like at least $2000 off.

USAA offers discounts on Mercedes-Benz vehicles to it's members. TRUE
USAA doesn't have discount for ALL Mercedes-Benz vehicles. TRUE
USAA discounts vary on specific models TRUE
Certain Mercedes-Benz cars sell only for MSRP....no MB dealer would discount.....which cars are those???? the ones that have great demand. I have yet to hear that somebody got any discount on SLS, G-550/63, actually most of the AMG product line....
I guess you could compare it to sport events or concert tickets........
I am sure we all know how that works. You don't get to see NBA playoffs unless you STEP-UP and pay the ticket price....and that is not the price that is printed on the ticket (yes, there are few exceptions)
