That's just a Black A45....why would anyone assume its a Black Series?

Apparently blogging requires no research

That's the same mule that's been driving around for the past year

The better question is why would AMG even bother?

As per other post above, it's not the same vehicle as what your on about, I think those of use following this model can clearly see that, take another look and read of the article I posted LOL

The local Carsales group are very good at covering all car types across the board, they've already featured the mule above previously a while ago before the A45 was even released, they clearly see the difference with this different 'test' vehicle most notably the wheel arches as already pointed out

I say why not ??

The new A class is a sell out success across the entire model line up.

The A45 AMG variant is a sellout success, it has order lists stretching beyond 12 months if you want one in some Countries, with that kind of sales success and with it's outstanding and benchmark setting performance and handling record, why wouldn't AMG opt to do a Black Series version

Makes total sense to me certainly well worth the bother, it could end up being the most popular or sought after AMG Black Series yet

The real problem will be a lot of people who want one most probably won't be able to get one because of the usual Black Series limited numbers and predictably immediate up take and selling out if this model ever comes to life.

I thought AMG stated somewhere that the BS will always be a coupe. Looks like the E-class should be next....

Pull your head out of your keister

Those are pre-production shots of the mule. They smoothed the fenders for production....if anything they might use is as a pacecar for the European Sport Compact races

Put some thought into this. The A45 is already at the top of the price range for hot hatch 4 bangers. How much more of premium can you put on it before people say, there is no way I'm paying $70- $80k for 4 banger.

Black Series puts a premium on every model....over $30k on a C63BS....what more could you do to A45 that would justify a Black Series premium

No need to get personal, all are entitled to comment without the profanity please !

That test vehicle is not something I've seen before that article nor the people who presented the article, it is however a different vehicle to the other one pictured that much is clear from pics and articles - if it's the same vehicle thats had its body altered that's another matter and who could possibly know that unless it's clearly shown or stated that one has become or been modified to become the other, do you have an article that clearly shows this to be the case please share as I'm keen to learn more on this AMG model series.

As for pricing that's an aspect that individual people will either go for or not, as would be the consideration for any car purchase the pricing also varies enormously from Country to Country at the end of the day it's up to the individual whether or not they justify that part of it or not.

I have put thought into it and think a lot of people will consider what this car has to offer in terms of what it is really all about, ie. performance in this regard it does not loose much ground to other AMG models and is in fact top of the tree in handling, a BS variant would put it even further ahead in all regards, it would be in super car performance territory when then compared to other AMG's and class competitors on a bang for buck as well as kit/features etc. comparison it definitely comes out ahead.

In my Country for eg. it is half the price of the previous entry level AMG the C63 and is superior to that model in some regards as well, same would apply for the BS variant if released.

You need to also consider that in some Countries or market places 4 pot vehicles or smaller are the only viable option, good to see they have something like this new A Class AMG on offer

^^^ Thank you

I havn't read through them yet but hope to find info about the various transitions if any of the test vehicles used for the A45 and learn more if indeed there's a possibility of a BS, I'll be heading over to my dealer this weekend to investigate further as well.

I (and I'm sure many others) have a great desire to acquire one of these A Class AMG's eventually, am also hoping MB/AMG do more variants a proper 2 door coupe or 2 seat roadster variant would be nice, lets see what happens

Except the E coupe is actually a C coupe with some different panels, upgraded interior, and a higher pricetag and they already have a C coupe black series.

No A45 black series ... They would not do a black series that would compete with e C63 black series.

AFAIK it would be produced to satisfy marketing and a high demand market segment, ie. the sport and hot hatch market, MB/AMG would clearly put it up against the new upcoming Audi RS3 and any follow on from the BMW 135i M hatch, don't think they're worried about competition from other AMG models

The sport and hot hatch market World wide is ever expanding and is now a large percentage of all cars sold in a lot of Countries, they are now even classing hatches in the 'super' category which the A45 and probably Audi RS5 are, if the BS variant is produced it'll be a hyper hatch

Could just all be speculation, but I'm convinced there'll be a more potent follow up of some type to the A45 simply because of the popularity of both the A45 and the rest of the competition out there of the same class, AMG have hit this class for the first time with a bang and a class topper, I'm sure they'll want to remain at the top.

If you look back, there were only 2 black series at any given time, they already have C63 and SLS black. There won't be another... You are purely speculating on wishful thinking.

It's not happening. Let it go

What does that mean? They can't have 3 at one time? Why not? Where is it written that they can't? An A45 Black Series surely can happen because the C63 BS is already gone and the SLS BS will likely be a one year deal also. This A45 BS won't likely arrive until sometime in 2015.

BS for the A45, really , lol, how feasible does it sound to pay almost 70k for a hatch back, when fully loaded it's pushing 45k already , c'mon guys

It's not a dead topic yet

If it dosn't eventuate fair enough, although I and lots of other people are still interested to see what happens, would be nice to have confirmation on it either way

A45 Black Series, C63 Black Series and SLS Black Series have got different target audiences. It is obvious that Mercedes want to take out the most of the A platform, with all of its variations. Why wouldn't they go for a BS? Definitely, there are people who are interested to pay 70k and more for a hatch, especially for a limited edition car with a Black Series badge on it.

Anyway, time will tell

Well uh there is something being tested here, and every time we've see these fender flares, there was a Black Series presented soon after.

Why would someone pay 70K for a hatchback? Same reason why they would pay 275K for a SLS or 125K for a C63 Black Series.

Agree with the above 2 posts.

There are now more and more articles surfacing on a possible BS A45, so speculation and interest is rife in the industry.

My local dealer also seems to think there's something going on, they are taking EOI's from interested people and have had 2 of those people want to leave a 'locking order' deposit to make sure they don't miss out if indeed this model comes to life.

Time will tell
