Well I took it to the dealership on a Monday or Tuesday (don't remember the exact dates), and they tested the turbo due to the service campaign. It was 0.089 which was above the permitted limits. Since they didn't have the turbo kits in stock etc they had to order them. They came in on Friday so I made the appointment for Monday. During the weekend the turbo started making weird noises, barely spooling up, and it felt completely underpowered. Luckily though as I said the parts were already at the dealership, and I had a appointment. Considering the issues the dealership decided to measure the "play" in the turbo shaft again and this time it showed 0.11. Afterwards they replaced the turbo. The car has been faster, better, and you can hear the turbo spool up even more now.

 

Had brought mine in for the turbo service campaign also. I wasn't experiencing any problems but thought i'd get it taken care of before i did. Parts took approx. 2 weeks. Got the car back last week and everything seems fine. Seems to fun a bit better even. Crossing my fingers this was the only problem that arises.

Have yet to experience any major problems. As stated before, car was running excellent before i brought it in. Just a preventive measure.

 

Well they gave me my car back since they didn't have the turbo parts so they had to order the turbo kit or whatever.

 

A45's had a recall for minor checking of turbo run-out measurement and a few people reported failures in UK.

 

I just took mine in for 4 campaigns last Tuesday, and they measure my turbo has 0.99mm, spec is 0.08mm. they hold my car till Friday night, so i pick it up Friday night, and drove home, the car feel little different than before, and the exhaust sound little different too. but when i saw my turbo spec. , i am like 0.99mm!!! WOW. But it drive good before, and no problem at all, no noise or anything, the car only has about 6800km on it right now. so all campaigns are done, i will drive some more to see.

My daughter's car had a recall two weeks ago, and had couple of turbo parts replaced but I did not have the detail, mine is the July delivery and have not heard anything yet.

New guy here with an A45 AMG. I recently finished my break in for the car. all seems ok except an annoying noise i have been hearing since I have the car.

Those of you who have been through the turbo recall, or even those who have not, is it normal that there is a constant whining noise coming from the engine bay even at idle?

Thanks in advance for your help. Dealer told me it was normal but for me it seems wrong.

 

That is definitely not normal. This sounds like a belt if its making the noise at idle probably not the turbo. Either way bring it in and tell them this is not normal

thanks for your reply. Ok will call them again today an insiste on the issue. First time around they clearly stated everything was fine and that they noticed nothing wrong regarding the whining noise.

 

Interesting reading all, FYI, I have an A45 AMG, delivered fresh, made to order in May this year. Smooth run-in, no race start until around 5000 km, done only 3-4 race starts in all. Just passed 13.000 km and the turbo failed. Finish. Now waiting for a replacement but around 30 days waiting time. Not what I would expect of an AMG car and not what I would expect in terms of spares availability. I certainly hope they will find the root-cause.

 

Is there a specific build range associated with these issues? Mine arrives in about 5hrs hence the insomnia, and now I read this

 

It was supposedly limited to before Feb 2014 builds but it appears there have been a few blown turbos outside of that range now a days.

I wouldn't worry about it too much...just enjoy your new beast!

mine is 5000 km and Mercedes is Sao Paulo already order my new turbo for free but mine never had any trouble but i heard the problem can occur in the future and i heard the new turbo goes more 35 hp original!!!

 

Mercedes have issued a second recall for turbo check. What is going wrong this time. Mine is in tomorrow so we will see what happens. Rang service centre but very reluctant to discuss the issue. Just say they are keeping check on matters. Disappointing really.

 

I have a problem with my turbo !

I took my A45 for service A at 15,000 KM , After the service the service adviser told me that your car has a problem with the turbo and we ordered a turbo from Germany for your car and should be here by two weeks , I asked him how did it get damaged , he said Maunfactuer fault , That's all , now I'm waiting for the new turbo to arrive and I'm watching the steep decrease in performance in my car and I started to dislike the car .

 

Have had mine since September of last year and never had a problem. I have the rebellion stage 2 kit and 11,500 miles and have no problem what so ever.

 

yes i have that in mine a 2015 gla45. sounds like a slight squealing. i had my turbo replaced and its still there, especially when i am driving and lightly give throttle i can hear it.

no idea what it is. you ever get yours fixed?

 

hi everyone i have a cla 45 amg and i scanned it and the fault was the boost of turbocharger 1 is to low the signal amplitude is less than the minimum amplitude can any one help plz and the engine light is on and there is no power.

I went to upgrade my turbo and the exhaust turbine was damaged. My car was still drive-able and didn't realize any changes to functionality of vehicle. Something went through the exhaust of my car into the engine.. weird. My car is sitting at 92k miles right now. turbo was replaced with weistec w.4 system the precision .60 rv turbo with custom exhaust manifold. Aesthetically appealing to the eye.

 

The turbos are high Showbox jiofi.local.html tplinklogin quality Borg Warner ball bearing.
