I realize it's a 4 banger but it spools up rather slowly. I do like the exterior look.
She likes it that's all that matters

with a revised throttle map it's night and day difference.
unfortunately a very large number of auto manufactures have been doing this for a long time.
AKA -electronic throttle control- fly by wire.

To be honest a R8 V8 isnt to quick. Only approx 410-420hp I believe. It also weighs in at 3580lb (CLA45 is 3500lb). On paper it is fairly similar. CLA45 is down by 50hp or so but it is turbo so makes up for any altitude losses.

But you are right, the V8 isn't that fast, BUT it should have been able to pull harder on the top end, especially once the 45 goes into its ridiculously tall 4th gear. Impressive nonetheless that the 45 kept up as well as it did 👍

Quite honestly I didn't realize the mods available for the 45. Bottom line, for me it's not that quick off the line in STOCK form as the initial throttle response seems to be lacking in all modes other than MANUAL at lower RPM.
I won't get much seat time in it, as momma doesn't give up the keys often......lol. I'm just reporting my intital thoughts behind the wheel in stock form. I'm just thrilled the wife likes it and no doubt the lines of the car are stunning and the MPG is an added bonus.
I'll have her look into getting the ECU done in the future.
Thank you for the info and i'll check out what's avail to bring out the best in the car.
