guys with Weistec mid/down pipe chime in
I recently installed the Weistec Mid/Down pipe heat shield kit. Anyone else notice a burning smell when you shut off your car? Kind of smells like an old dirt bike exhaust. Is this normal?

Yes, completely normal. No cats will make your car smell like that. If you get it tuned the smell will go down a little but will still be there. I have it and i actually like the smell. My friends say that when there behind me in the canyons when I am driving hard it REEKS which i think is funny. So anytime you see a prius behind you at a light make sure to throw it in neutral give it some revs.

Went for a long "spirited" drive on Sunday. On the way back the CEL came on. Stayed on until Monday afternoon. Anyone else have this happen with the downpipe installed?

James did. You'll have to contact Weistec and get their o2 sensor spacer.
They initially claimed no CEL with their setup and now it appears they're selling a part to stop it....

Yes, I have the same issue with CEL light turning on occasionally. Reached out to Weistec more than 6 times by email without any serious effort to solve this issue. Really dissapointed in Weistec aftersales.

That is pretty poor. I'd try by phone, they seem to answer to possible sales promptly. Hope they just overlooked inbox. Please let us know how you make out. Will help my decision in the future.

I got a CEL before the spacer.
The spacer fixed it for me.
I remember one morning though, the car threw a CEL and by the end of the day, the CEL disappeared.
