Core means you exchange your original with the updated one. It means they send you the new cool wheel, after you install it, you send back your old one.
This allows them to re-use the 'core' of the part to build the next wheel.

Hi DCT Motorsports,
Are you still looking for the first CLA45 AMG member to install this wheel and offering any specials? I have suede grips on the sides of my CLA45 wheel that are quite worn already, and so I'm looking for an alternative.
