Not sure, They did their magic and told me this was a new version of the ecu tune. Was super happy with the results. I asked them like 10x thats wtq and whp. He said yes.

That's nearly the same power as the supercharged 5.5 V8 (M113K)

Can you run some 1/4 mile times with this set up? I'm thinking about Weistec or Renntech. I know the renntech ecu tune is laying down really good 1/4 mile times

This was a member on here's slip with just a renntech tune (no intake/no dp). I talked to him probably over a year ago and then got put in touch with renntech. They quoted me around 2k for the tune with shipping and I never pulled the trigger. I have the itch again with the warm weather.

I spoke to another person today who had the eurocharged canada tune and pulled a 12.1 but they were also running a dp and intake. I'm wondering if it would be faster in the US im not sure if the tune in canada was for 91 octane or not

WHP increase is as expected but that jump in WTQ is phenomenal!

Hoping the OP is enjoying the tune, but looks very much like a torquey map with little top end gains to me. Will be a quick car when coming on boost, but through the gears (60-130) I doubt it will be massively quick. I only say this as I have friends who have had similar maps that ran mega torque and a lot of boost, but were actually slower than other cars with less torque and less boost.

The slip above is my car and as already posted, runs the RENNtech Stage 1 flash tune (it does have AMS intake though). I have since run slightly quicker 11.90 and 116.4mph traps and this all comes from a tune that still runs less than 2 bar (unlike others). Peace of mind when you want reliability and that's what I have had so far in the 60k miles the car has covered (tuned).

Would be good to see a Weistec car at the strip to see what numbers it lays down.. Would also be good to see some 100-200kmh / 60-130mph times to compare. I know it's different climates/roads etc, but would be good to see. Mine has done a best of 9.2 100-200 and 10.9 60-130 just to give you an idea. Not sure if that's up there with you boys or not?

Yeah that's the guy. He seems to be very happy with the tune and he came from a Rebellion stage 2 tune. The Eurocharge tune for 1k seems to be the best bang for your buck and its covered under their warranty. Only thing that scares me is I haven't see many reviews from people who have it.

Rebellion piggyback has by far the most reviews and almost all positive i just haven't seen enough slip times. I'm really shooting for high 11s and im not sure if the piggyback will put me there.

These 1/4 mile times are based off of the $2500 Renntech piggy back tune?

I have heard of people purchasing separate ECU's and flashing them to the cars stock performance settings so that when it comes time for servicing, there are no issues. Have you done this?

I haven't heard of anyone doing that. I know if you have any issues or service upcoming you can send back to have your tuner flash back to stock. You probably only need to pay shipping costs and can get it tuned again free of cost.

To buy a new ecu im guessing is several thousand alone.

As above, mine just goes back to stock if any major warranty work is required. Standard servicing I don't even bother getting flashed back tbh (my gamble though). I am reliably informed that MB don't automatically scan the ECU for software changes etc during every visit and this is only done when MB themselves ask the dealer to do an ECU dump and send it to them (not something that is done when going in for minor warranty or servicing).
I also know of a car that had been flashed back to stock from running Stage 1 software that had an ECU dump sent to MB and all came back clear.
Nothing is guaranteed in this tuning game, so there is always a gamble. But it appears that MB are more relaxed than the likes of VAG and BMW.
