Upcoming CLA 53 AMG likely worse than current CLA 45 AMG
I understand that maybe we shouldn’t directly compare the CLS and the CLA but the engines will most likely be the same. Even the new A-Class will receive a 53 AMG engine.
Of all the numbers and figures published and all the videos found on the web (for example on Youtube), it is really strange that the new 53 AMG engine, which is a straight 6 with 435 HP (total 457 HP with electric motor) and 520 nm (total 670 nm with electric motor) is worse than the old 4 cylinder,381 hp and 475 nm 45 AMG engine. Not only that, the new 53 AMG have a 9-speed DCT gearbox compared to the CLA 45 AMG which has a 7-speed DCT gearbox, but despite this, the new engine (53) is worse than the old one (45). Can anyone see the logic here, or rather the lack of it?
And not only worse performance-wise, but the 53 also has a higher fuel consumption and (what is very important to me and many others who want to buy an AMG) sound!
The CLS 53 AMG makes 8.7 l / 100 km (27.04 U.S. MPG) while the 45 AMG engine makes only 6.9 l / 100 km (34.09 U.S. MPG). Obviously the CLS is a heavier car than what the new CLA will be and that will naturally make the car consume more fuel this isn’t just a small difference, regardless of whether the CLS is 350 kg (770 lbs) heavier than what the CLA will be. So the difference of about 350 kg should not be proportional to make a difference of 1.8 l / 100 km (or 7,05 U.S. MPG) (ie. 8.7 - 6.9 or 34.09 – 27.04).
And then we have the sound. Please search for CLS 53 AMG for example on Youtube. It sounds superb at cold start and standstill. But at any RPM higher than 2500-3000, it sounds like a Nissan Micra 1.6 I kid you not! (Search yourselves).
So can anyone be kind and explain to me what the heck Mercedes-Benz was thinking here? Thus the next generation CLA is worse than the predecessor regarding one of the (if not the most important) aspects of an AMG - namely the engine!
Or can we hope that the CLA 53 AMG will be more sporty in terms of better performance and better sound? What do you guys think?

MB is not going to stuff the 53-line I6/EQ Boost in an entry level A-Class... what you're suggesting there is a platform trim that would exceed the model above it, the C43. Also not sure how you are not fond of the straight 6 53 engine...do you have hours of experience with that powerplant in that platform? Because if so, you have more access than anyone here does.
None of this makes much sense.

Why I'm not fond of the engine in the CLS 53 AMG? Read my initial post, it's worse than the current 4 cylinder engine in the CLA 45 AMG in every performance aspect. Regardless of a CLS weighing more than a CLA.
I'd be more than happy if Mercedes just put a 4 cylinder engine in the new CLA, as the current 45 AMG. I just don't understand how they will call it CLA 53 AMG when it's not the same engine as the CLS 53 AMG. Can anyone explain this particular question to me?
To Germancar1: Everything I've wrote about is because of one initial information that I got from my Mercedes-Benz dealership. They said it won't be any 45 AMG anymore, instead there will be only CLA 53 AMG.
