I locked in my loan the day before the last interest rate hike last week.
Thankfully I'm only borrowing 20k, so the previous rate hikes haven't been too bad.
I'm just frustrated about my car still not being released from the VPC.

I went by my dealership today - I wanted to see the CLA35 they have in the showroom.
The Sales Manager pulled up my car on Netstar, he confirmed it was ready to ship.
They're not expecting the car till Monday or Tuesday of next week.
Back to the Mountain Grey CLA 35 in their showroom - it's a good-looking car.
The guy who ordered it backed out and it's available.

I'm heading in to see the finance guy at my dealership this afternoon.
He thinks he can beat my credit union, plus I'm told it would change the deal on extending the warranty.
If you don't mind answering… did you add the pre-paid maintenance and extended warranty?
I'm pretty sure I'll add the maintenance package.

Got an update yesterday evening that mine has left the VPC headed to the dealership. Also, got the Sales Manager to send me the numbers so they want try in funny stuff on price when it arrives. No markup but they me for $900 for Paint and Fabric protection. Told them I was financing it on my own and the manager asked if they could help with financing. When i said i haven't had a dealership beat PENFED or Navy FED rates he agreed they could not match.

Is there a reason why? I'm at the same point. I already got approved by my credit union and once the car gets to the VPC next week I'm going to tart asking for firm numbers from the dealer. I'm pretty sure they'll offer a lower OTD price if I finance through them.
Because a lot of times they run it through a couple of banks and there goes your credit score down by 2 per hard hit. They have enough info to show you firm numbers to start based off their rates. Remember hard hits stay around for 2 plus years, but over time they decrease in terms of hurting your credit.

I'm pretty sure multiple hits for car loans at the same time are considered one inquiry by the credit bureaus. That's what I'd read. Anyway, after this I doubt I'll be making any large purchases for a while...

I am still going to try to get them to lower that fabric and paint protection cost. I know there are already going to try to sell me on the maintenance package. Still a little of negotiation when finally face to face with check in hand. But I am happy no markup to haggle over. Hopefully, you get your numbers soon with no issues.

Oh it doesnt matter, I had 5 banks hard hits on one freaking car a while back, was pissed because it was 15 points off my credit lol.
