Turbo
Does anyone know what turbo is lurking under the heat shield in the CLA45's engine bay?

I have not had any luck trying to figure this out.
Thanks in advance.

Interesting. Where did you find this? My wife's TT has a ko3 on a 2.0. With an APR flash it only produces about 250hp @17psi (approximate).
I would have thought it was a minimum of a ko4.

I'm sure we'll eventually find out the make and model of turbo used on the AMG A Class engines, but it's definitely not the Borg Warner K03 or BMW B03 as stated above.
I have an Opel turbo convertble vehicle which is powered by a 2.0ltr turbo petrol engine and it features the BG K03, the K03 is an older unit (and a small turbo unit) and was also used by VW Golf MK4 & 5's and any other 4 pot turbos of the same vintage, the VW Golf MK6's and other vehicles of the same models year switched to the slightly larger BG K04.
I'm very familiar with the BMW 135i have a lot of friends with these, along with all other BMW models using the same engine the earlier model with the IL6 N54 engine uses a symetrical twin turbo set up which were made and supplied by Mitsubishi and the later single turbo N55 engine turbo as mentioned is definitely not a K03, a single K03 is way too small to flow enough air for a 3.0ltr engine.
Most manufacturers tend to use the same turbo unit for similar 4 or 5 cylinder engine applications, if I were to take a guess unless AMG have adopted a bespoke unit I'd say the BG K16 is the one since that's the turbo being used at the moment for the Audi IL5 engine used for RS models and also for the higher power Volvo IL5 engine used in the Ford Focus RS.
i've done a search but couldn't find any definitive model or technical specs but I'm sure someones bound to find more literature

Ideally I would like to see as a minimum a dual ball bearing cartridge, preferably a ceramic ball bearing but that is asking too much.
Further more, I am hoping that the Compressor wheel is not from a cast and instead an aluminum CNC cut. Borg warner is a great company, I know they produce great quality.
This car could be the absolute dream had they put a variable vanes on the compressor, similar to what Porsche has on their GT2 or some older VW turbodiesels.
