Dilemma, C63 --> CLA 45?
Hi,
i own a C63 amg estate, i have approx 40k km on it so far. Now as new it was around 200k €, now i would estimate it to be around 120k €. I am interested in the CLA, but i don't know if it is worth paying the same amount for an almost fully loaded CLA as for my fully loaded C63. I would appreciate inputs because i have no idea what to do at the moment. I love my C but the km is starting to scare me in regards of reselling it.

I have never owned a C class so I cannot compare, however after having seen the latest spy shot releases of the new 2015 C class, on a styling basis, Mercedes did a really really poor job of the re-design in IMO, seems as if they rushed it by taking pieces of the new E Class and S Class and then 'smoothing out' the lines. CLA is down right gorgeous and fuel efficient!

I had 2008 C63 now own A45 AMG Edition 1. At first I felt same as you. Less power how would I feel? But right now I'm glad that I went for A45. DCT is so nice and fun, traction with AWD is nice, sound is nice, race start is amazing and very fast car. I enjoy it everyday.

Thank you Hiro. I contacted my sales person but on a 102k € car (the CLA fully loaded) he gave 2k € off the price :/ Guess it would be a better idea to bring it in from germany in half a year.

Yes my man, I'm in the same situation as you. I own a 08 C63 and I'm in love with this little CLA45. I keep thinking about the power loss too but i think if I pull the trigger & get one, I'll just tune it after a few months to make up for that. As for the price, mine came up to about $62,000. A new C63 will be about $75,000 if I build it the way I want it. That's almost $15,000 more. Something to think about.

If I owned a white C63 Estate, I would not even consider a CLA45. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
EDIT: Just saw the mileage comment, 40 thousand KM? that is around 25k miles. Your wagon is practically still new.

Not that I don't still love it but I've been in my C63 since 4/08. It has 46K on it. I just want something new...a refreshing change. I still have to plug in my i phone in the glove compartment to be able to play music.

Yup, unfortunately i am. We have ****ed up taxes. It is insane because the EU should represent a free economic market between all countries. But no, when it comes to cars in Finland we basically have customs...

Personally I am getting the new C63 coming out in 2015, all wheel drive, 4L turbocharged judging from the SLS details with a 0-60 well under 4 seconds I can extrapolate that the new C63 should do 0-60 in under 4 as well maybe 3.8 ish? 507 series is at 4.2 so it would/should be lower than that especially with all wheel drive.
Perhaps you should wait another year or so before making the decision?

I had a fully loaded 2013 F30 M Sport 335i (RWD) with every single M Performance part. It was devastatingly quick and the ///M-branded Brembo brake upgrade provided massive bite.
Although I enjoyed that car, I was disappointed by a few things: the body roll; the bland, plastic-laden interior; the motor's lack of top-end performance.
I thought about holding onto it for a little while longer and then switching to the faster, more-balanced CLA45. However, I realized that a switch to another turbo motor would not quench my desire for higher revs and more ferocious pull in the upper RPM range.
I realized that the fairly high-revving, large displacement, naturally aspirated V8 found in the C63 would not be around much longer with the industry-wide switch to forced induction performance cars.
After taking a friend's car for a spin, I fell in love with the sonorous engine note and sinister exhaust growl of the C63. I fell in love with feeling the engine pulsate with some violence and bad intentions as I sat waiting at a stop light.
During that drive, my dilemma was resolved: the C63 was the answer to what I was looking for in a driving experience.
That said, now that I have my C63, I definitely wouldn't mind adding a CLA45 AMG to the stable. It's beautiful. Its performance is undeniable.
If you've grown tired of the feel of a 6.2L, NA, V8 motor, then I'd say give the CLA45 a try to change things up.

I feel bad for you brother. I got my new 2009 C63 with $5000 in options for $52000 (about 40000 Euros). You need to comes to the USA and live the dream . Paying 200000 Euros for a C63 State is ridiculous, Like I said, I paid like 1/5 the price.

I'm in the same spot. Go back and forth daily! If the new C63 has AWD, DCT and a 4.0TT it will be lights out but for some reason the CLA45 keeps reeling me in.
