Official - MY2023!

So I just recently checked in with my dealership (Canada) on my order, which I placed in February. The manufacturing date (May) has been pushed to the middle of August. What's more interesting is that on the order, the model year is now 2023. I'm curious if I get my powered passenger seat and my footsies trunk release, as I'm looking at the order guide, and all of that stuff seems to be back in.

If your build sheets have those options then the odds are good in my opinion, do definitely confirm with your dealership again that the options are back and available and included in your build.

Yup, the 45 returns for 2023. There is also an Edition 55 model you can try and get if you want.

Eaton, do you mind seeing if it is true for Canada (availability of Edition 55) or you don't have access to the systems over the border?

Both US and Canada are getting the Edition 55.

The US will only get 55 of them. Probably the same in Canada, but not sure.

I have the Canadian build sheet if anyone wants to peruse, DM me with your email!

I thought about the 55, but I didn't like the decals on the outside.

It seems like a lot of features are coming back. Although not all seem to be coming back in all regions. Like I noticed on the American site it shows augmented reality nav but not for us in Canada. The bigger thing I'd worry about is if there is a price change. When my order changed from 2021 to 2022 the price of the car went up several thousand dollars as well. So check with the dealer on that (they may not know yet).

You know what... there's CLA45's showing up in the City. Go check the cars available and see if any of them are good for you. I think there's people who ordered these cars a long time a go and in the mean time they moved on to other purchases so now the cars they ordered are available for sale to other people. So check those... maybe you can grab one of those and enjoy a CLA45 NOW.

Since you are here, I am curious, are you close to getting your car yet? I remember seeing you in the "waiting" thread and I am wondering if you can finally get your car and enjoy soon?

Nope! Can you believe it? It's over a year later... like 14 months now. I was told as of 2 weeks ago that it's finally at a rail yard in the Toronto area but still no word from the dealership that it's ready for pickup or that it's even in the dealership possession. It's ****ing ridiculous.

I ended up buying another one that became available... and I'm loving it! 😍

Oh nice glad it was a happy ending after all, pictures : ) ?
I guess you can post it in the "waiting" thread or the picture threads, let's not hijack OP's thread xD

I don't mind at all! Pictures are what this thread is missing! I think I have a good answer to my original question though - There's a good chance that some of these features are back because of the new model year, but I should definitely check with the dealership to make sure.

I just got off the phone with the dealership - Right now, it looks like EVERYTHING IS BACK!

One caveat though. In addition to the NIGHT PACKAGE, there is also now a STEALTH PACKAGE. My aero pack got deleted because the requirements for that are now both the night AND stealth package. So now I have to pay more money (to get stealth pack) so that I can pay more money (Aero pack).

I supposed that's how it goes -

I'm coming from a 2018 Golf R - This car had better be WAAAYYYYY better than that one!

Confirmed available in Canada. Was at the dealer over the weekend. They have 3 x 55 on allocation. Too bad it’s only available in black. Magno matte in gray or black, or even classic silver would have been nice.

It's not like there's any real significant differences the 55 edition anyways right? Just a bunch of graphics added?

Sooooo… Bad news; at least for me.

I received a call from my dealer yesterday saying that my order for a was-22-but-now-23 model year CLA45 has now officially been cancelled due to bandwidth issues.

They will not be making any more CLA45 until “hopefully December” for delivery in Q1 2023.

So, it looks like at least for Canadians, if you don’t have a build as of yet, you ain’t getting one.

I cracked and ordered a C43. I’ll probably never get it either.

****.

Truly sorry to hear that especially after all that waiting you went through, what about CLA 35 or A 35, A 45, GLA 35 or GLA 45 Although I don't think CL/A 35 will be good enough for you?

I think a lot of us are in the same boat in terms of waiting.

I came from a 2018 Golf R, and when I got rid of it, I felt like I “graduated” to the next tier of performance, so the next logical step for me was obviously an RS3, as I wasn’t too thrilled about the new Golf R. The RS3, as we all know, got canned in Canada, so the only really option for me was the CLA45. I did drive a 35 before ordering the 45, just to see if I can get used to the switch from VAG to MB ergonomics, and it did feel sort of like the Golf.

Anyhow, We don’t really have a performance option in this segment any more. It’s pretty sad. So, it was a toss-up between S4, which I find completely boring, an M340i, or the C43. The Giulia Quadrofoglio was in the mix too, but I don’t think I want to put that much money into it. I’m not thrilled about the bigger size of these options, but it is what it is in this new landscape of “vapor” cars and sudden cancellations.

Although this might not be part of the vehicles listed, but you may also consider the new G42 240i (heard it is better than the outgoing M2), the 8Y? S3 and the A90? GR Supra. There are also others such as the Lotus Emira. They have a dealership in Oakville I think.
If you wish to look at non luxury brands, there is the i30N, WRX STI etc.

C43 is probably a similar timeframe as Q1 2023 - so not sure you should back out entirely if the cla45 is still where your focus is.

Alternatively, the LCI 340 would be my pick if you're not invested in a brand.

I have one of the earliest builds for a c43 right now with a build date of october. add at least a month for shipping - issue here is if there is any delays in getting the car certified as it's a brand new model. I would be thrilled to take delivery before the end of the year.

I have not received a PO for the CLA45 that I ordered - so this is probably very similar for US, unfortunately.

There is no more STi unfortunately. That’s what led me to start looking at the RS3 which ultimately led me to ordering the CLA 45.

That sucks. Did you order the C43 currently on sale or the next gen that just got unveiled? If you really want a CLA45 there's some slightly used ones available for sale or some dealers have some coming in still.

You'll get your C43. Not sure if there will be more CLA45 orders tho. Mercedes is getting out of the compact models... A, CLA, etc. I know they are working on an updated 2023 A and CLA but I have a feeling they are not coming to North America.

The brand new BMW M240i is really nice. I tried one and liked it alot... really strong engine. The only thing I didn't like is the steering was complete ****. No feeling and a deadzone in the middle. The looks are also meh. But if there's no other choice... that's a good option.

I got the new C43, so basically the wait begins again. I was able to get #2 on the list, which was an open dealer pre-allocation, so hopefully that means something.
