What do you think?
I drove the CLA yesterday while looking at the E class, I thought the car was very futuristic, taking MB in a new direction, I dont know if it's a good one but a new one, the transmission was junk and very not smooth, but that was one of the only things I didn't like other then the odd seats, and no head room ( im 5,8)
to me it seems like a civic MB, like a rich kids first MB.
but what do you think other people that have driven them or own them?

ya I was thinking about leasing a amg but I might as well break out the lube, an eclass that is almost 20,000 more is half the price for a lease

Anyway, the "kids" you refer to are future AMG buyers, like myself. Criticizing the CLA segment for kids is like criticizing owners that modify their C-class to make them look like C63 AMG's. But i guess to each his own.

I'm sure you can wait for the break in period to be over. I waited another 500 miles over what Mercedes recommended on the C63. I gradually changed driving style during those extra 500 miles to ease the engine it more spirited driving, and not just go to WOT after the break in period. It's hard as hell not too when Mustangs/ Cameros, BMWs come up next to you and you're doing 55-60 and they blow past you! I don't sweat it, they enjoy their cars as much as anyone and that's part of it.
Yes, the cost of any AMG is initially painful. I worked up several trades to get to the C63 over the course of 4 years: Used Range Rover sport > 2012 E350 Coupe > 2013 C63 AMG.

Well, the CLA is a Mercedes and is a new segment targeted at first time car buyers. These first time buyers when they get older and make more money, Mercedes hopes they will buy up into the E class and so on. That is the Mercedes strategy and so far it seems it has worked. Apparently the CLA has helped Mercedes outsell BMW earlier this year. This is a new direction in design for Mercedes, most of their models have changed. The C class (205) will follow the new design changes that the CLA and the new S63 looks like. I saw a CLA 250 on the highway coming behind me pretty fast and recognize the front grill. Sinape62 Ur right We are the future AMG buyers Even though I turn down the c63 amg for the 2012 e550 coupe BiTurbo cause it's a tuner motor " With down pipes LSD an ecu tune
The car makes over 650 hp
Anyways at first I didn't like the styling of the cla ontill my little sis purchase one a few months ago I have to say im impress the car feels great and fast
The cla 45 on the other hand is a monster in its own lane I got smoked 3 time driving my c250
I was disappointed cause I have a lot of performance mod on the car thinking I would keep up. But. Nope. I highly respect the cla 250 and 45 platform great cars
