Getting rid of the C63 for a CLA 250 Sport Package Plus?

Long story short i just got a new job and drive 20+ miles one way and as many of you know the C63 doesn't get the best gas mileage. I've always loved the look of the CLA and today happened to be the day there was a black one behind me with the bi-xenon option and boy was it good looking. I then found one near my local dealership and they listed it for $41,999. I talked to a sales man via email and he said the best he can do is $42,830 OTD with tax and license. What do you guys think?

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ECU dyno tune; EDOK TCU tune; BB intakes; sprintbooster
I think I'm very sad for you

To me, there is nothing cool about the cla250.... I would rather take that $42k and get a predriven something that was better mileage than the c63... What about an e350 or e550!?

This and that.
He ended up getting rid of the C63 for a 2011 BMW 335.

If that is true, then it's a much better choice.

the N55 in the 335I is garbage, Sorry thats not a hard choice at all to keep a c63 over that. Slow gets the same gas milage and the interior is down right boring. When I sold my E46 M3 I completely skipped the thought of the 335I and went E90M3.

You did read that before you posted it right ?

"In the 335is this unit produces 320 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque with up to 370 lb-ft of torque available through the use of temporary overboost. As a reminder, BMW replaced the 300HP twin-turbo six N54 with the new 300HP single-turbo six N55 in the 2011 335i."

There are two models 335i and 335is, the 335is only came in 2011/2012 and was COUPE only. It retained the N54 engine and was the ONLY E9X model where you could get the DCT (in the US). YES 2011+ 335i's got the N55 motor. However mine is the 335IS not a 335i

The 335is was a special run-out model (similar to the C63 507).

All 335is cars have the N54 motor. Furthermore, the 335is is the only E9X-generation car that has a true dual-clutch transmission.

I've had an '07 and a '10 335i sedan (both had the N54 motor).

I've also had 2 F30 335i sedans (both of which had the N55).

In sum, OP has the 335is (N54, overboost, true DCT).

2011 BMW 335is Test/Review by Motor Trend:

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...mw_335is_test/

"The engineers swear on a stack of product-change-notice paperwork that indeed this new version, nicknamed N54B30, is tweaked to pump more air for improved performance. The mission of this North America-only model is to cut the factory in on some of the action BMW owners have been giving companies like Dinan, Hartge, AC Schnitzer, et al. in search of a bit more performance and exclusivity. Indeed the added power is largely derived in the same way those guys often make it -- with a hotter chip that turns up the boost (from 8.7 psi in the 2009 335i to 11.6 psi nominal peak). As for the aforementioned overboost of up to 14.5 psi, this only happens for a maximum of seven seconds, generally below 4500 rpm, so the horsepower never tops 320. Unlike some of those other guys, however, BMW upgrades the cooling system substantially (an auxiliary radiator and an oil cooler flank the main radiator and the cooling fan's performance is increased), to preserve manufacturer-warranted durability."

Got cha, I guess with the limited number bought they are hardly ever seen. Every one here in miami is a 09 or below, or that N55. I didn't notice you were saying 335IS so thats my fault for mis reading. I was talking to the 335I.
