CLA 350+ with EQ technology
Headlight headache
Hi
Got a CLA 350+ with EQ technology in november. First BEV I have owned and is really really satisfied with it, and the transition from ICE (BMW 320i 2023, before that CLA180 shooting brake 2020) was much more painless than what I was expecting.
Now onto my troubles, for which I will contact dealership as soon as they open, is that my headlight on the right side started flickering and the autolights went crazy. Today the right side is totally dead.

Edit: errormessages on the dash was Right side Hi/lowbeam error, right side position light error, right side blinker error and dynamic lightning failure. (translated from my native language)
I just wanted to... I dont know, vent? Provide a place to collect more sufferers?
Also: is this a "common" problem? (On the new CLA or on EQE/EQS, ICE-models?

Update 20251229:
Contacted the local dealership (my dealership is 360km away) and they booked me for an appointment 20260102 (could not get earlier time, understandable), with a loaner booked. I work 13-21 that day, and they are closed 3/12, but they will fix a good solution foe returning loaner and getting my car back. All repairs within warranty (of course).
Ill update when I have more info.
All-in-all very good service so far.

I mentioned elsewhere that my Carly fails to read anything from the car and they have yet to reply to me about compatibility. I have meant to use a more basic OBD-II adapter and reader, but the fact that Carly reported no ECUs implies that any conventional diagnostic reader will not work either. So you are really dependent on the dealer and anyway just one month into your warranty.

I watched your video; never seen anything like that before with previous ICE C-Class nor my CLA 250+ that sounds a similar vintage to yours, all with similar lighting configurations. Sounds really unlucky and I guess you have no messages in the display or you would have said.
I mentioned elsewhere that my Carly fails to read anything from the car and they have yet to reply to me about compatibility. I have meant to use a more basic OBD-II adapter and reader, but the fact that Carly reported no ECUs implies that any conventional diagnostic reader will not work either. So you are really dependent on the dealer and anyway just one month into your warranty.

Low/hi-beam error, blinker error, position light error and dynamic light failure. Ill update my original post. Sorry I forgot to mention those.
I guess its the new "star"-shaped lightning module that has some sort of issue. Hopefully it will just be to reconnect a connector or something. What is a bit worrying is that I have had condensation inside the headlight-module since day 1 and the seller just told me not to worry about it.
But its a lease, so I spoke to the dealership: it will be fixed under warranty. I wont do anything repair-related as its a lease, and I dont want to void my lease-agreement.

Could be as stupid as a loose connector, since all the elements in the same unit are presenting an error. Either way fingers crossed that they identify the issue and resolve it swiftly for you.

Given the age of the car it’s either a loose connector of faulty module.
Not great but if something fails on a new car it usually happens quick.

Car got into workshop 2/1.
5/1 lightunit ordered as it seemed to be borked
8/1 lightunit arrived, but they could not code it into the module, and they wanted to keep the car until morning
9/1 morning: light fixed. The headlightunit was borked and the control module for the right lightunit was also broken. The workshop/dealership fixed it by cannibalizing another car (a new democar they just got) and fixed my car. Shout out to Jemtbil, really good service.

Glad they took such good care of you by pulling parts from another car! Too bad it took a week but it sounds like you are really remote. At 360km (223 miles), was that really your closest dealership?
