Question A220 Rear Headrests

Does anyone else's backseat headrests go down? Mine stop at the midway point, and its pretty annoying because it blocks some visibility. I asked the dealer and they said they don't know why they don't go all the way down, even though its clearly suppose to, and could be a possible future recall.
Is it like this for all of you?

Same here. I even tried removing and reinserting them in hopes it'd "help"; it did not. :- I agree, it's annoying given it takes up a couple extra inches.

Headrests Should Go Down

I have the same issue although I just returned from getting my windows tinted and the headrests were all the way down. Not sure what they did. I thought they broke it but sure enough when I pulled them up the two side ones wouldn’t go back down. The middle headrest does.

Damn, now I'm going to have to figure how to lower the headrests...
Don't think it's possible...

I plan on going back to the tint shop tomorrow so the guy can show me what he did. I will keep you posted as soon as I find out.

So I went back to the tint shop and the guy showed me what he did to drop the headrest all the way down. (Note: I am not sure what this does to the mechanics of the headrest and the interior parts so if you try it proceed with caution) First he pushed the headrest down as far as it would go. Then with one hand he held the button and rod and with the other hand he smacked the top of the headrest quickly in a downward motion with an open palm forcing the headrest to go passed the stop (see photo). You may need to apply some pressure when doing it to force it beyond the stop. He said he has worked with many cars like this and knows the cars enough to know that is what you do. Who knows 🤷*♂️

Excellent. Thanks, I'll give it a try. There is no reason for them to be so high...

I tried all the tricks also. Won't go down.
Anyone want to do a video?
I'd pay someone to lower the damn things...

This looks great. I'm going to try this, this afternoon and hope it works. I was also thinking, if I can't get this to work does anyone think cutting the bottom of the bars to shorten them would work?

Thanks!

It worked. Just fold the seat down to get some room and give it a nice slap.

I cannot figure out how to lower the back rest to get more leverage to push them down. How do you lower back? Thanks
