What is your gas mileage on highways?
I recently tested Economy mode and wow, 12 miles into a highway drive and I was at 50 mpg. For a non-hybrid car that is pretty amazing. I can get 40-44 mpg in Comfort mode easily as well. So happy with the fuel economy on this car, way better than my former Toyota Camry.

A250 Hatch (Canada) gets 6.5 l/100 km (36 mpg US) on a 60 mph road. On 75 mph freeway drops only to 33. Our Honda CR-V gets nearly equivalent mileage at 60 mph but drops off much faster with speed (1.5 l turbo engine, big frontal area).
Our old Infiniti Q50 not only got poorer mileage, but also dropped faster with speed.
Looking way back to time in Germany in '70s, our solid lifter Corvette got 15 mpg at 60 mph during the fuel crisis (but 12 at 100 mph on autobahn), while our BMW 2000ti got 26 mpg at 60. At 100 mph it dropped to 16, so not as much better at speed than the Corvette.
Cars have really improved their fuel economy.
