W177 big display installation

Does anybody install after the purchase of the car the big display?
My V177 came from factory with the basic small display and I have found used the oem double big displays.
I just want to ask if the installation is plug n play or does it require coding.
Thanks in advance.

More than likely will require coding. Installation from my research doesn't look too difficult to do. It's just allowing it to work is the bigger problem.

then, question is why you got smaller one at first place? i think if you install bigger screen, you need to turn off the option in software for bigger screen, i don't know if you can do it or not.

My car was in stock at Mercedes local dealer and I didn't want to wait for 3 months in order to receive a full customized Merc.
Also, if I ordered it with the big double display, I would pay 2K extra except of display cost because of taxes.
I will receive my new Merc by the end of next week.
I will keep you updated concerning the retrofit process.

ok, great!

when i bought my A250, i got the one has traffic sign assist, you will see under the windscreen, there are two, oh no, actually three cameras under it. that unit looks the same as my father's Volvo XC60, which has all kind of assist systems, ACC etc, so i'm imaging, this is just software difference, if you can find and get an update ver of software to install on your car, maybe you need a bit programming, then you should be able to get it work.

i know, on those Audi car, in China, people are doing that, to re-new the software/update, after that you get more functions out of it. but you need to have people who know how to do this to help you. the New A250 and A220 are kind of new, i don't know if there is people there know how to do that kind of upgrade.

Or if you can do it yourself, let us know.

you need special program things to help you,

Hi.
I have been quoted £3000 +vat (GBP) to upgrade my 2x 7" screens to 2x 10"
Apparently its not just a case of changing the screens, the radio controller unit has to be changed too.

A retrofit will cost over 2k..should’ve just waited for the one you really wanted.

Were you able to upgrade the screens by any chance?
I'm looking into the same retrofit, but cannot find much information around it
