Centre display screen all lines

The centre didplay screen between the clocks has developed a fault and shows lines 2/3 of the way up the screen. This the display that gives general car info - milage etc. Top part still working.
Did not get a bang or anything, was just like that after I returned from holidays. Like that a month+ now.
Has anyone similar experience... does it cost much to replace.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You sure the connection isn't just loose or something for some reason?

I not sure how to check. I had just parked it and all fine. When I returned it was like this when I turned it on

I am hoping it is a loose connector instead of internal stress/fatigue crack/thermal stress. Check the screen carefully and see if the LCD inside is cracked. As for checking, the only way is to remove the dash so not ideal.

Correction: as for checking if its is a loose wire, the only way is to remove the dash.

It might be a trip to the dealer. Not sure if you can replace the screen without coding.

You mentioned you just returned from holidays, was it an extended period (IE. couple weeks). Possibly a weak battery or low voltage may have attributed to the issue.

Some possible causes yes, worth checking.
