with only 5 post on this forum....has RED FLAG all over it. Gift card are a huge scam. Many people also get scammed by buying gift cards even after doing a face to face exchange. One money is exchanged and the seller walks away, the original owner calls up the company stating that they've lost the gift cards, BUT have an original receipt for them. Of course, they've paid it in cash. The company will then CANCEL the gift cards and then reissue another one. The buyer who thought they got a good deal will later find out that they don't have any amount on their card.
Here's ways to avoid gift card scams:
1. By on Ebay from a seller ONLY with high feedbacks.
2. if you're buying doing a face to face exchange. Have the seller meet you at the store to verify the amount with a cashier. Do a purchase immediately.
Of course, you can't by $100 of Starbucks coffee right away. However, have the seller still meet you at the coffee shop and have the cashier verify amount. Once the seller leaves, have the cashier exchange exchange all 5 cards (totaling $100) to buy 1 gift card of $100. Therefore, if the person tries to cancel it.....it's too late. You got a new card with a new gift card number.

i would be a better idea for it to be mandatory for people to have at least 50 posts before trying to sell anything as well as an asking price in topic. This isnt ebay no need to hold secret auctions in PMs.

This goes to show the strangle-hold Starbucks has on the United States population. Normally I would scream SCAM....... but my addiction got the best of me.... Starbucks..... how I love it..... when that Venti Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino hits my hand, its one of the best parts of my day...
I feel like an idiot....
Oh-well... It was Paypal CC, so should not get bent over on this one....
I can't believe I let this little ***** get the best of me.
What comes around goes around.

anyone who says they received $200 worth of giftcard at Starbucks is obvious a scammer.
1. I haven't known anyone sane enough to give $200 worth of giftcards to another person. not to mention it's for Starbucks...and not other department stores
2. "I've received" just sound like a load of BS. he's telling us he couldn't sell it to his co-worker or give it to his client?
LMAO. sorry for those that got scammed already.

I doubt he even lives in California. If one of the mods would be so kind to supply me with his IP address, I can find out where he lives
Or, I know the mods know how to do this as well. Maybe one would just post it for us?

Not exact location but I can tell if he's in say California or New York. Plus, the fact that he's committing internet fraud, I could give the IP address to the authorities who in turn could contact his ISP and get his exact location. Trust me, there's ways to find him if I felt so inclined to.

I opened and escalated a dispute with paypal on the 1st, I think. Paypal says that the seller has 10 days to respond. If he/she chooses not to respond, the claim will be granted. So, I'll wait and see what happens.

As of currently, the only people getting owned are the members here who bought the gift cards. We have to wait until tables turn and the poster of this thread takin it in the *** before sending it off to the Owned Thread.
