Are these any different than the 55 AMG 8 pistons?

Something Slow
$2,505.25 USD

and i dont think it will fit a C230 without some serious modification to your car.

SLR - 8 pot calipers

Hi

I am not sure if they are the same as the 55 AMG brakes.
But they are marked with the Mercedes part no. so maybe your Merc dealer
or a specialist can help with this question.

Please let me know if you want more information.

The calipers can be fitted to a lot of different cars, but it requires some kind of a mounting console.

A good engineering or machining company with the right skills can make the parts for you. But it is certainly not a job for beginners.

Also, what is the center to center distance of the mounting flanges where you would bolt the calipers to the spindle?

I think it would have to be 500E minimum...C43 would be too light for those brakes.

Hi again

I will also get back to you with the measurements.

Unfortunately, I do not have any other parts from the SLR. The calipers was bought from a German Mercedes tuning company.

I was hoping that they would fit a race car project. It was not my lucky day......they didn't.

I'm surprised that the brake lines coming off of the car aren't completely steel braided.

Hi

To "Omegabenz6" (and all other who could be interested)

The weight of the calipers are 7,9 kgs (app. 17 lbs) a piece. The weight is for the complete unit incl. brake pads. Just like the pictures.

I will revert tomorrow with the measurement you asked for. I will take the calipers with me when I go to work tomorrow. At work we have better measuring tools.

Regarding the question about other parts from the SLR. I have talked to my contact, and it may be possible to find more SLR parts at the same location in Germany. I you need something please let med know and we will see what we can do.

Please also let me know if we shal quote you a freight charge for the set of calipers.

Have a nice day

Hi again

I have checked the calipers and made some measurements.

The 8 pot Brembo / Mercedes calipers can be used with 360 - 380mm rotors.

Mounting diameter:

With 360mm (14.17 inch) rotors = 398mm(15.66 inches)
With 380mm (14,96 inch) rotors = 418mm(16.45 inches)

The calculated clerance between the caliper and the rim(19 inch) is:

With 360mm rotors = app. 1 inch
with 380mm rotors = app. 3/4 of an inch

I hope this information helps you.

Please let me know if you need further information
