Sticking Cluster Gauge Needles Fix !

FIX YOUR STICKY GAUGE NEEDLES.
Fuel gauge is stuck at empty, oil pressure gauge is stuck at zero, speedometer stuck at zero and the water temperature gauge is also stuck at zero.

Now that it is cold outside again, All of my W202 Cluster Gauges were sticking until the cabin temperature was warm enough to release the gauge needles. Tired of cleaning the needles every season with alcohol, I was determined to fix this permanently. Found that Mercedes actually makes a cover for the sticky posts where needles rested. But they are only sold in Europe.

So, I contacted a friend in Germany to send me some for my cluster. It actually worked.. These little covers actually fit over the 4 post and solves the sticking problem. I have five extra sets of these tiny post covers.

Im offering the five sets of Cluster covers (4 post covers per set) for $10 shipped per set. Send me a PM if interested.

Cool! Any ideas if they work on the W124? Also, what is the MB part number? It's hard to read from the photo...

Im not sure if the cluster needle posts are the same size on a W124 (I would think so, but we do have Mercedes Engineering ). The MB part number is A0009929220. I tried local MB shops, online MB dealers and called MB dealers in Canada. They didn't show the part. Thus, the MB German parts for me. These tiny covers slides snugly over the posts and solves the sticking problem. Hopefully, my pulling the cluster out every Fall is finally over.

Update: My 124 has sticky oil & fuel needles, but upon closer inspection, I found that neither of these have "stop posts" for a sleeve to slide over. Only the oil pressure gauge has the little post, and - you guessed it - that's the one gauge that isn't sticking. Figures!

So these will not help you. Maybe your cluster will be apart of the currently ever growing MB cluster recall. But I think the cars included are 2002- up.

Sorry I couldnt help you..

----------------------------------------------------------------

As cold as it is outside, I know someone else needs these!!

Buy now before they are all gone.. Much cheaper that purchasing another cluster!!
