no i'm not pissed. any S55AMG is a fantastic automobile.
and "supposed top of the line car"....there's no supposing ....it is a top of the line automobile.....regardless of year. cars get better every year...that's to be expected.

Testing the waters.
hey everyone,
basically i'm testing the waters. it would be great to pick up an 03 CL55 but i certainly wouldn't be disappointed if i didn't sell my 02. i really love my 02.....the color and just the overall look of the car. but since i'm single with no kids a coupe might make a little more sense. either way i don't feel i can loose in this proposition. i'm not going all out to sell the car. i only have the car advertised on the net at two locations for a total term of 30 days each. if the car doesn't sell in that 30 days i'll keep it most likely for 2 more years. i'll let everyone know what happens if anything happens.

I hear you. I debated between the 4 door and the coupe for days. However, my wife of 7 months (who PUSHED me to get a new car, very cool I might add) reminded me what a pain it would be to put a baby in the back of a coupe. Plus, the ease of a 4 door would come into play for many reasons. However, I was at the gym yesterday and saw TWO black CL55's w/ chrome rims. WOW.

my guess is that with the economy like it is and the war going on that i'll be an S55 owner for a few more years. your right in the fact that the 4 door is just more practical. maybe i should get married and start having babies.........ahhhhhh not just yet!!!!i also have an 02 ML500 in desert silver. i have a friend that likes to remind me when he sees them both sitting in the garage next to each other that i "have the perfect bookends and that all is right with the world!!!". in the end i should just be thankful that i have what i have and not be a greedy pig!!!! i'll keep you posted if any buyers step up.
i've got a question.....how accurate are the delivery dates that MB gives it's cutomers?
i know if i was waiting for a car i would be cruising the dealership everyother day just in case it arrived early!:p

The build date is the last week of April. Usually takes 4 weeks to get the car from the build date. I put in a call today to see how much the residual dropped, if any. No word until next week.

Any luck in selling the S55? I was at the dealer today, I'm all set for a delivery in the 1st week in June. I also added the phone system.
I keep seeing the CL55's at the gym....wow.

hi dave, welcome to mbworld.
no the car hasn't sold. i'm not really disappointed. the car has only has 4200 miles, it's paid off and basically brand new. there is absolutely nothing about the car that i don't like...right down to the color..desert silver. i was hoping that maybe a quick sale would mean a new CL55(i'm single so a 2 door might make a little more sense).....plus the new kompressor motor is also pretty wicked!
