CLE 53 AMG

Just weighing in on this option: FTW? If you want to hear the exhaust note, open the widows. I haven’t seen it yet but I’m guessing somebody will eventually offer this option in an EV, which is even more ridiculous.

My Build date is May 23
I am encouraged to read that the Baltimore harbor channel will be able to accept car carrier ships by the end of the month. That should ease the backup I'm guessing is slowing import car deliveries to the east coast.

So, at this stage, that build date will put delivery into some time in June.

Sooner would be better. I've waited for this car for over year since MB announced no more 2-door C-Class and introduced the CLE-class and eventually the CLE53. As best as I can remember there were spy shots of the CLE © Feb '23. CLE's have been on sale in Germany (and probably most of Europe) in December '23.
The good news is that May 21 is a Tuesday and May 23 is a Thursday. So no Monday or Friday cars for us.

2022 E450 Cabriolet
Thanks for posting this very interesting video . Love the overall proportions and looks and Alpine grey is one of the colors I'm interested in along with the Patagonia red .
Only disappointment is the sound or lack thereof and the price . I guess my order being a cabriolet will be quite an expensive car especially in Canadian $ !!

Agreed. The C63 SE will be base $105K in Canada. With that info, I feel like the CLE 53 should prob be $95K base. But time will tell. Any info on when they are expecting your car to arrive?

I'm seeing dealer next month to discuss order , as of now there is no DOG for Canadian 53 cabriolet . I'm leaning towards Alpine Grey or Patagonia red ,but it depends on what interior and top colors are available . As we know , not all combinations are available .
Excuse my ignorance ,but what is OPF?

The reason why that muffles the sound is there are already multiple (?) mufflers in the exhaust system, this OPF is just like another muffler.

For anyone interested in Alpine Grey just make sure you go and eyeball any other Mercedes in that colour as this video is not accurately representative at all of what it looks like, it's actually much darker and a bit dull in overcast light IRL.
Would've been perfect if they added a metallic or pearl to it as well rather than being a solid colour.

I've seen Alpine Grey on many vehicles ( mainly SUV's ), and it's ok , but I've also seen it on SL63 's with black roof and it's stunning ! Guessing the latter is more comparable to the CLE cabriolet ?
Anyway I'll probably chicken out and go safe with Patagonia Red .

IMHO both colours are attractive and suit any of the new MB/AMG model shapes.
I'm more for the Alpine Grey for the AMG CLE's and more for the Patagonia Red on the new GT, that's just the way each colour better suits those body shapes in my eyes from all the released vids and pics seen so far as none are available yet IRL where I'm located, as you mentioned also seen lots of MB SUV's in Alpine Grey and to my eyes they look good in bright daylight but a little dull in overcast conditions.
With the Alpine Grey definitely best to have as much black colour additions as possible as that will help, the convertible will look excellent, pano roof with the rest of the top that's painted wrapped in matching black on the coupe should do it.
Pity the pano roof glass does not extend all the way down to the rear glass like they did it on the 204 series.
Here's vid of a regular variant CLE 300 in Alpine Grey in overcast conditions, it's more realistic of what it looks like IRL.

Yeah, don't know why MB do that but they have 2 or more names for most of their colours, sometimes even in the same market from one dealership to another

I went to check out a SL63 not long ago at 2 different dealers and both had one in white (the same white)
One dealer called it digital white and the other moonlight white, when I asked the 2nd dealer why are you referring to it as digital white and not moonlight white like the 1st dealer he said he's never heard of moonlight white lol.
Same thing happened also between Hyacinth red and Cardinal red which are also the same colour.
