Along with the AMG branded red brake calipers, the AMG Performance Steering Wheel is an integral part of the package.

From MBZ's press release page:

AMG DYNAMIC PLUS Package

The optional AMG DYNAMIC PLUS Package elevates the CLE 53 Coupe with additional dynamic details and equipment for an even more emotional driving experience. Among the key highlights are the RACE drive program with Drift mode, as well as active engine mounts that allow increased spread between performance and comfort. The AMG Performance steering wheel in microfiber, along with red painted brake calipers with AMG lettering on the front and rear axle underscore the vehicle's dynamic character.

Might have done without the microfiber trim myself, though it seems the added control features of the performance steering wheel are integral with those of the dynamic package. Not entirely sure on this as it seems that the performance steering wheel can be selected on the MBZ configurator without the dynamic package option (??). Went with the L6K Performance Steering Wheel in Nappa Leather / Microfiber as opposed tp the C/F Leather version.

Will add, could have done without the red painted calipers myself. Seems nothing but the paint color sets them apart from the standard CLE binders. Gloss black would have worked just fine for me - though they look quite nice with your color choice.

Thanks. I see that the microfiber/leather steering is apparently the default steering wheel with the AMG Dynamic Plus package, but the L6J AMG Performance Steering Wheel in Nappa Leather is allowed on both in the US & German configurators with this package. My dealer says it's not possible, but RJC's build sheet has this combination. My dealer is trying again and hopes to have an answer soon.

A very good question.

Preliminary research here shows that the leather steering wheel may be preferable for me as well. If the only added difference of the Performance Steering Wheel options within the Dynamic Plus Package are the addition of microfiber, I could live without it.

Will fire off an email request for clarification to my S/A this afternoon - will advise when he responds.

My US Market build sheet, which was made today, has the Dynamic Plus package, and shows the Nappa steering wheel in the "standard options" section. No other steering wheel is mentioned in my build. I asked my dealer about the microfiber version, and they showed me on their screen that it was a $500 option.

Does it have the $250 heated steering wheel that can't be removed?

Yes it does, but that's one of the options that I wanted, so I didn't try to have it removed.

Just received an updated Configure Print from my S/A - dropped the optional Microfiber trimmed L6K steering wheel - going with the standard L6J in Nappa Leather.

Wouldn’t have caught it without the helpful information provided by other forum members here. Thanks all

Other welcome news … my original Production Date of 10/29 has been moved up to 09/20. Reason given “the original PO# is taken away from our dealership and given to someone else”.

What that means exactly, idk. Another MBZ dealership in the AutoNation group would be my guess. Will check into it later.
