CLE53 SPECS

Looking to order my CLE53 in black and would love to see different specs.

Who here has a regular black (040) CLE53 with pics to share? Seems like most of the ones I see online are of obsidian black.

If you have obsidian black please share as well and specify which black your car is!

I faced the same decision with my CLE53. I eventually chose obsidian black. In subdued light the black and obsidian black look very similar. In sunlight the metallic part of obsidian black is obvious. Some say obsidian black hides scratches and swirls better. In my opinion, obsidian black looks deeper and more luxurious. I’m very happy with my choice. It boils down to personal preference.

It’s very difficult to compare obsidian black and regular black in pictures. The best comparison is in person. I spent time on dealers lot comparing. I was able to find cars of both colors parked side by side to make a real comparison.

Do you have any pics of yours where the metallic is obvious that you can share? Would greatly appreciate it!

Do you still have a picture of the two cars side by side for OP by chance?

No pictures. It’s difficult to see the difference in pictures anyway. In person is the only way to really decide.

I’ll see if I can get a pic that shows the metallic paint. Direct sunlight is the best way for it to show in a photo.

I spent too much time agonizing over this choice myself , including comparing side by side models at dealers and never really came to a conclusion as to my preference ,other than Obsidian has more of a greyish hue in sunlight , whereas plain Black is ,well black ! Fortunately I went with Patagonia Red ,so problem solved . There are too many variables to make any comparisons from pictures especially sunlight and its direction .
