Unfortunately, I got rear-ended recently in my 2025 CLE 53 AMG. The car is still drivable, and thankfully, the airbags didn’t deploy, but there’s a decent amount of damage to the rear bumper and diffuser 😔
I’m starting this thread to document the incident, share photos of the damage, and get advice from anyone who’s gone through something similar, especially when it comes to insurance claims, diminished value, or negotiating a settlement.

Oooof. That sucks. We know it was more than 3mph, because the "bumpers" didn't help much.
Best of luck getting it fixed up and making a decision on things. No experience, however there are plenty of people who have gone down this path before that will hopefully chime in.
Sorry to see that. It sucks even worse on a new car. I had a very similar rear end hit on my 2019 E450 Coupe while waiting for my CLE53 to arrive from the factory. Damage was around $5200. All cosmetic except the hit pushed in the metal trunk latch brace which the body shop just pulled back out, Body shop was MB Certified Collision Center. Parts replaced were all 100% MB only because no non-MB parts existed for my model. I suspect the same is true for your CLE53. Insurance process was easy but long. I got my final payment in May and the accident was in Feb. I've never had good luck with diminished value before but this time I hired a local company for $200 who specializes in DM to prepare a report which I submitted directly to the other persons insurance and they paid the full amount I was asking for no questions asked. Each states laws I suspect differ but here in FL I was told by my insurance company they don't deal with DM and I had to submit the DM claim myself directly to the other persons insurance company. Hope this helps.
For diminished value, just tell the adjuster from the other company when they call you about your concern for it due to being a higher end car. I did the same with my M5 a while back and they gave me 5k on top of the repairs.
just wondering, i assumed you dont have the Driver Assistance package?
if you do, i believe the car flashes the hazard light rapidly if it detected someone about to rear end you?

Ill definitely look into that, Im in California not sure how the law works here but I'm gonna push for that DV claim and ill look into hiring a specialist I actually had no idea there was someone for that, thanks for all the great information!

I unfortunately do not have the Driver Assistance package, however, when I did get hit I felt the brakes engage afterwards to prevent me from hitting the car in front which was nice.

It was on the street as I was driving these photos were just taken later on when we pulled over.

When I first saw your pictures I thought it was a hit and run because of it being in a parking lot, I admit I saw the image first before reading your actual post. Sorry about that.
