Does anyone with a pre-2026 CLE have a Digital Key?

I know there's already a digital key thread but this is a separate question.
Does anyone with a pre-2026 CLE have a Digital Key button on their phone app? Like the picture below from dan1493.
On the MBUSA website, on the 2026 CLE, it lists Digital Vehicle Key as a standard feature, and clearly the 2026 car has the button on the app, although dan1493's doesn't work, yet anyway, but he has the button.
I'm wondering if it's a software thing or a hardware thing. Could updating to E333.8-58 and app version 3.3 add the digital key to a pre-2026 car or will we never get it because it needs hardware to work?

I wonder if E333.8-58 adds a digital key?

No, it doesn’t, as I have it, and have been told previously it’s hardware-dependent on a specific module being present when the car was built. In basic terms, any car prebuilt before April 2024 will have the old module, and any after the new one. I didn’t enquire any further than this as my car, by one month, was on the wrong side of that change, and I have no idea what said hardware module it is. However, I’d guess you could buy it directly from Mercedes and hot-swap it, although most modules these days are coded in, so it wouldn’t be cheap as you’d have to involve a dealership at some point, even if you could get it fitted elsewhere. One thing I would say to this is that they likely have all cars within distribution lists, so even with the right hardware, you’d still need Mercedes to change things within their vehicle database, assuming they could or would. All in all, I’d say it’s possible, but far easier waiting for your next car update.

Is the date on the drivers door jam is the build date? If so mine says 9/24

I think that will only tell you the year, and it must be when it first went into production, not when they finished building it. As mine was a complete custom build, I was aware of when they started production in the factory on my car, as I received email notifications from them.

You got email updates about the car's production from the factory? What did it include? How often?
